COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional saison style now made only at Blaugies, using barley and spelt ("epeautre"), a primitive strain of wheat.

Finally! Oakes repaid his debt! Luminescent cloudy gold with lively large, long-lasting rocky head and lacing. Aromatic brew! Egg shell, citrus rind, herb (?thyme?), grass, white wine, laurel leaf, perfume. Enters with pleasant up-front tartness. Smooths instantly as the lively effervescence tickles the mouth and throat. Lovely leathery quality in flavors and texture. Undeniably saison complexity without any wacky insanity. Has some pineapple, white grape, lemon peel and herbal magic. Grain in background signals sturdy malt backbone. Finishes extraordinarily clean. Is good enough to be special but easy enough to be sessionable. A great beer better in my mouth than on the sidewalk :)

Sampled at the Bockyhorsey tasting, Malted barley and wheat grains. Yellow body withthite head. Grains dominate the flavor with some light fruits in the background. Good change of pace beer for the day.

[1817-20081022] 375mL bottle. Mild grapefruit flesh aroma has lots of citrus rind. Hazy, light orange yellow body with a medium-lasting foamy white head and heavy red floaties. Sour grapefruit orange continues in the flavour. Medium body is sour. Interesting.

Very hazy golden coloured body with a super-dense white head. Aroma of coriander seed, wheat, hops and curacao. Medium-bodied; Sharp wheat up front then fades dramatically. Mild coriander seed taste-good flavour-no off tastes. Aftertaste shows some nice flavours - a good beer, not great...but good to try! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia on 17-September-2005.
