A traditional saison style now made only at Blaugies, using barley and spelt ("epeautre"), a primitive strain of wheat.

Tap @ Belmont Station... Ah, this is the way Saisons should be. Poured a clear pale, golden with a white head. Earthy, floral, well spiced and the yeast created a nice dry palate. Perfectly quenching, and having lots of depth and complexity. Orange cream, coriander, grassy, and a mild malt sweetness.

750 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a large fluffy white head. The aroma is light grassy, earthy, light citrus with hints of funk. The flavor is very light with hints of citrus, grass, mild sweetness, and light funk. This is refreshing more because it is cold, but not because of the flavor which is weak at best.

Tap. Huge white head with great retention and lacing is spotty, but there. Lightly hazy yellow-orange color. Sweet vanilla, grainy, and some barley-like notes in both the aroma and flavor. The vanilla comes through in the taste more. A bit too sweet for me in the style, but OK drinking. Lighter body with tight carbonation.

750ml corked bottle. Straw with a whipped, uneven head. Enticing lemon zest, Asti Spumante, lemon and lime jelly, pear and coriander aroma, with a huge gust of CO2 and some sulphur when first poured. Perfumed and soft with a hugely drinkable combo of orangey hop and spice, powdery coriander, bananas and cream. Went very nice with Octo’s Jalfreezi and Thai green curries. Loses some sparkle as the head subsides, but you can’t be too fussy. Saison growing on me as a style by the bottle....

Bottle shared by Brian, thanks! Poured a near clear gold with a white head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma had a mint note that was accompanied by citrus, floral, wheat and a slight funk note. Flavor had lots of citrus and floral with a light mint and a growing wheat note throughout.

750ml bottle shared with deyholla after picking it up from the Wine and Cheese place outside of St. Louis. Pours a cloudy, golden colored body with an inch thick, frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is grainy and yeasty with lots of lemon and mint. Dry spices with some clove, sweet florals, pale malts, tart wheats, and a touch of funk. Flavor is sweeter up front and maintains a nice, lightly sweetened mix of pale malts and wheats throughout. Yeasty, spicy, and somewhat tart with florals, lemons, other sweet citruses, and some dry hay. Finishes a bit grainy before it dries nicely and leaves a light bitterness. Medium length aftertaste following a light, smooth, dry body and lively carbonation. Overall, a pretty interesting beer. Very aromatic, funky, minty, floral, lemony aroma, but like the flavor, this mellows out as it warms where the smooth, pale malts and wheats take the edge off the yeasty spicing. Lacks something to put it over-the-top for me, but I liked it nonetheless.

Bottle. Poured a hazy amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Light to moderate citrus, sweet fruit and yeast aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium balanced sweet & tart flavor with a light to medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. I would recommend this to a friend.

Bottle brought to me from Alan at good ’ole Knightly Spirits in Orlando. Thanks Solan!! Upon opening, my nose is immediately greeted by strong notes of metallic wheat and sour yeast. The lacing shifts lazily down my glass like a cascade of snowflakes. The body is hazy golden-yellow underneath a half-inch of white head. Flavors are similar to the aroma with a creamy roundness in the palate. Wheat, subtle yeast, cereal, subtle grassy hops, and white grape in the finish. High carbonation and light body. Incredibly refreshing and easy to drink. The ABV is completely indiscernible. This is yet another example of the beauty of small-batch brewing.
