Magnum via IPB. Appearance: Light perfectly opaque gold pour with a frothy white head and spotty lacing. Beautiful. Aroma: Lots of pepper, flowers (lilac?) estery and white fleshed fruits from the hops which is a nice addition to the regular product. Taste: Lots of grain, light residual sweetness. Once again, the hops translate into fruity (mangos) flavors. Palate: Lightly carbed, full bodied but could be drier. Overal: A nice twist on a classic but I wish the hops were more on the grassy side. The bottle was ~8 months old, the hops might have faded a bit.

Sigmund (4939) - Tau, NORWAY - OCT 19, 2011
Shared magnum bottle at RBNAG 2011, as Saison Dupont Cuvée Dry Hopping, vintage 2011. ABV 6.5%. Hazy straw colour, moderate white head. Grassy hops in the aroma. Decent hoppy bitterness in the flavour. Can’t really say that it’s so much better than the ordinary Saison Dupont - but might be able to tell the difference if I sampled them side by side?

Sample @ RBNAG 11 (live rating). Hazy straw colored body, small white head. Fruity apricot tones, saison yeast and grassy hops. Fresh citric tones up front, then kiwi, yeast and caramel malty hints. Extremely nicely balanced saison, fruity and refreshing.

On tap @ Mikkeller bar. The aroma has citric and grassy hops, earthy yeast. Hazy, yellow coloured beer with a white head. The taste is light bitter, bit cheesy, earty, citric, light grassy. Quite dry mouthfeel. Good.

(750ml bottle best by 1/2014 thanks to bu11zeye) clear gold with thick frothy head. Nose of Belgian saison yeast, earthy, nice faded/aged hops, orange and other citrus peels in here too. Taste of earth, Belgian yeast, tons of spices, aged hops, subdued flavor. Linger of faded hops, and a bit of umami.

beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - OCT 3, 2011
Bottle. Pours a nice orange color with a frothy white head. Aroma is dominated by lemony and grassy hops, with some wet grass, hay, barnyard, earthy and herbal notes and some spice. Flavor is also quite hoppy with the lemony and grassy flavors, along with spice, yeast esters, barnyard, wet grass and earthy notes. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall a really nice take on Saison Dupont.

Clear pale straw color. Huge white head that is slow to fade and leaves plenty of lacing behind. Smells of hops. Hops, earthy grass, malt, brett and pepper. Spicy flavor with a bit of hops and malt mixed together. Bitter, sweet. Dry and light. Pretty decent.
