Draught at Akkurat. Unfiltered. Cloudy, yellow liquid with white head. Aroma is much hoppier and less funky than the normal Saison Dupont with notes of floral, noble hops, grass, some light malt/bread and of course a bit spicy yeasty action. Taste is dry, medium bitter and overall very clean and fruity. Not as yeast dominated as the original. Light to medium bodied with nice, high carbonation and dry mouthfeel. Overall, much better than I thought it would be and a great thirst quencher in the summer. Really nice flavour and aroma.

2011 version, draught. Lovely cloudy gold. Huge fragrant hop nose, citrus, grass, something like melon, and light, bready malt. Light, clean flavor with big grass, dry fruitiness and some citrus. Very dry, and very bitter. Clean as hell. Not quite as complex as the regular saison in the bottle, but great. Bitter and dry as a bone.

Magnum at Victor’s bracket box tasting at Paul’s. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a large white head. Musky and fuzzy, soft yeast and a touch of dusty hops. Sweet and clean, very smooth and easy. Musk on the finish.

2012-11-06, draught at La Fine Mousse, Paris, 8-5-6-2-13=34
Cloudy golden color, creamy head. The aroma is delicate, very nice, spicy. Dry mouthfeel, lean, astringent, soapy, with some chemicals, not stylish; the ending bitterness is somehow disturbing. Controversial.

Cloudy blond color; small head. The aroma is quite true Belgian, the body is lean, unfortunately the flavor tends to give some plastic; correct bitterness; refreshing, but the final is dry and a bit dull. Mixed feelings.

Sampled from tap @CBF ’11. Body is cloudy yellow, topped by a finger of shiny white head. Pleasantly fresh lemony hop aroma. Some fine spice tones and a whiff of grass and flowers. Taste has a dry and crisp malt profile. Superfresh zesty lemon flavor, with spices, flowers and herbs added. Subtle bitterness. Medium body strenght. Softly carbonated, silky mouthfeel. Balanced fruity and spiced finish. Very refreshing, very well crafted.

Handbottled (thanks Kike!). Slightly hazy orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, earthy, mildly barnyardy and quite spicy. Flavour is otherwise the same, but also has a bunch of tropical fruity juice like notes and some herbs. Aftertaste is fruity, spicy and yeasty.

on tap at mikkeller bar during our june visit to scandanavia... pours a murky mostly opaque medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head....Aroma is mostly citrus and fruit basedorange - citrus with an emphasis on a saison yeast feel. hoppiness is lighter and more subtle than expected... semisweet flavors with a citrus and floral hop bent while a light peppery grassy bitterness surfaces in the finish. average bodied with soft to medium carbonation. enjoyed

Bottle: Poured a bright dirty orangey color ale with a huge foamy head with great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of rustic Belgian malt with light funky ester and some dry Noble hops. Taste is quite complex and refreshing at the same time with light barnyard notes with some rustic malt and a dry hoppy aftertaste with light notes of cat’s urine. Body is full with great bottle-conditioning and some super good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed with nice complexity and hoppy notes but good drinkability factor as well.
