2013 bottle (Triskel hops). Poured cloudy straw golden with a well-retained, thick white head. The aroma picked up soft peppery notes, cloves, and mild lemon acidity plus a fresh accent from grassy and lesser earthy hops.. this wasn’t too far removed from the base beer, but it was a nice twist. The flavor found ever-so-slightly buttery biscuit and bready malts at the core, with lemon zest, earthy spices (including white pepper and cloves) plus grainy bitterness around.. finished grainy with a kiss of lemon. Medium-bodied with quite a bit of carbonation.. dry and grainy.. this was good, but I prefer the original.

(backlog ZBF 2013, ZO 28). Tap. Signature Dupont dryness, chalky yeast profile and grassy hop profile still preside over this supposed foray into dryhopping. Ironically, delicate almond malts nicely featured here. Nothing against a BE sense of balance, - and this was easy drinking - but this was a bit of a letdown given the name.

Butelka 375ml. Cuvée 2014. OCZY : piwo jest mętne o głębokim zółtym kolorze. Piana jest średniej wielkości o kolorze białym. NOS : piwo ma świeży aromat. Cytryna, zielone jabłko, twaróg, siano, zioła. Ma również zapach mięsa. Gotowanego mięsa z warzywami. USTA : piwo jest mocno gazowane, średnio nasycone. Kremowe w ustach.

Bottle from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a slightly cloudy golden yellow, lots of white head. Aroma well balanced, spice, lemon zest, grassy. Body full and lovely, finish slight with yeast dominant at first and then subsumed by a lemon-grassy taste. Nice, but I prefer the original.

Approximately half of a 25.4 oz. bottle, consumed on 3-8-14. 2013 vintage. Labeled as "Saison Dupont Vieille Provision Cuvée Dry Hopping 2013." Scents of apple cider, cream, vanilla, red pepper spice, lemon, and a touch of brine. Belgian yeast smell. Just a hint of sourness. I was hoping for a stronger and hoppier aroma. Pours a hazy, opaque orange-gold with a moderate to large amount of fluffy, thick, long-lasting, uneven, off-white head. Moderate amount of tan flakes suspended in the liquid. Tornado of effervescence almost earns the appearance a 5, but not quite. Simultaneously dry and candy-sugar/fruit-sweet taste. Tangy. Peach, black pepper spice, blueberry, apple juice, muffin, and minerals. Bready flavor with a bit of umami meatiness. Dry, earthy aftertaste. Medium body. Frothy, silky, and lively in the palate. Filling. Saison Dupont Cuvée Dry Hopping 2013 is somewhat Orval-esque, which is very high praise, but it is not as good as Orval. I was hoping to love it, but I merely like it. It is not notably hoppy. Perhaps this bottle is old enough for the dry hopping effect to have worn off. I feel the urge to give this beer a 3.8, which I consider "very good," as opposed to a 3.7, which is merely "good," but I can’t quite justify it. I prefer the regular Saison Dupont Vieille Provision. I shared this beer with my parents, and my mom, who is far from into beer though willing to sample, absolutely loved it, for whatever that is worth.

2013 bottle drunk 3/8/14
That Dupont appearance that you all know and love (perfect).
Every bit as lip-smackingly delicious as the regular saison, with a fruitier, less herbal hoppiness. Big, fruity and lightly sweet in the mouth. All-around amazing, certainly can’t score it worse than the regular. I’d even say that depending on the mood I’m in, I’d prefer this over the regular. The hops make it feel less dry on the palate, almost like a Belgian IPA, which I would think is appropriate, since this is trying to highlight the hops. Great stuff, glad I found it.

Murky gold, puffy white head. Sulfuric and plastic nose, considerable oily grass, moderate dough and pale grain. Flavor is pineapple and grass, light dough mid with more grassy bitterness before lightly syrupy thin body through finish. XXX Bitter light.
