4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 JoeinEscazú (1324) - San Jose, COSTA RICA - SEP 10, 2012
Lovely thing, which might have more success as an educational tool than as an improvement over the original. Had on draft. Herbal-minty hop nose might be subduing some of the yeasty esters (or it could be because this one hasn’t developed in the bottle). Familiar moderate bitterness and dry finish. Would love to do side-by-side, or else drink about 10 more of these to work the rest out.

Bottle courtesy of Glouglouburp at Kramer’s Campground Brewdown 2012. Pours a hazy golden body with nice, thick white head. Aroma is zest, yeast, citrus and lemon. Mouthfeel is super carbonated with a ton of spice up front, lemon, bitter grassy hop and yeast. Not a big fan of this, but very greatful I was able to try it.

2012-08-18. Hazy dark yellow body with a nice white head. 3+ Flavour is on the dry side, with a good amount of bitterness and hop character. Grassy hops, whispers of lemon. 7+ Yeasty aroma, floral character to the hops, very muted pale malt 6+ Average plus palate feels fuller due to fairly high carbonation. 3+ Enjoyable. Draft. Golden color, white head. Smells great, full of floral hops and has some sour notes as well. Flavor has a fresh sweetness and a great drinkability. This is great!
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 erickok (2294) - Tours, FRANCE - AUG 26, 2012
Light yellow golden, small bubbly head. Very citric, fresh. Not as yeasty as the normal saison, but maybe because this is on tap. Drinks well, nicely carbonated. Well dry, cleanly developed. Nice! But... like the normal better I think!

1.5L at Campdown Brewdown. Pours a cloudy light yellow with a massive, pillowy white head. Awesome formation and retention/lace. Nose is heavy apples, esters, sweet apple juice. Taste is tangy and sweet apple juice. Green apple. Very cidery with acetaldehyde flavors throughout. Disappointing.
