3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml dated 2000:Slightly hazy golden liquid with huge,big-bubbled,dense head.Extremely active carbonation as well.Parts of the head become extremely dense, almost whipped looking.Aromas of grass, dirt, flowers, wood, cheese, leather and late dough takes over. TOugh fresh tasting malts, grass, with slight acidity dominate the mouth flavors.Finish is very smooth, clean, and very earthy.Floral hops also very evident in the finish.Yeast pour cuts dryness and acidity, letting the fruitiness shine.Very fresh tasting for the age.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Apple sour taste. Light color. Probably not the best choice after drinking an imperial stout, but the apple pie tart flavor was very interesting.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2003 I agree that this is a rather sweet and spicy saison. Dry and effervescent with a nice spicy bitter finish. Plenty of fruity and spicy sweetness throughout. A tasty beer that I crave more and more often. My, what a year can do to a person. 12/3/2002 3.6:Well, first off, this beer should get an extra point for me because it was full the brim. I mean, I had a few millimeters between the cap and the liquid. Everyone should fill the beers so full. I feel like a I get a good deal. Ok, but the real stuff about the beer. The aroma is mostly yeasty, with a hint of spice. Must and cobwebs are also distinguishable. Dry and effervescent, the beer feels great in the mouth. The flavors are of lightly sweet fruit, honey, cloves, and yeasty bread. The finish is light. A wonderful beer, however, I found it to be a bit too sweet for me.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2011 a gorgeous dirty blond standing there with thick bubbley head and a tart lemon-honey fragrance tainted with a delightful mildew and smothered in baking bread.. subtleness with creamy carmel and lemon encrusted honeycombs..sugary malts lost in wheatfields.. Sweet but bitter lingerings...On draft, this beer is mind bending. One of my favorite consistent saisons.
Re-rate...I’m boosting points for being so fucking awesome.

Has a cloudy golden colour with a huge white head. Head dies relatively quick. The aroma is yeasty, fat and spicy. Flavour is complex with lots of fruit characteristics. Has a bitter apple aftertaste. Very good beer.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2003 330 ml; year unknown: Dimmed banana. Very cloudy. Dense meringue foam. Buttery yeast aroma with prevalent notes of lemongrass, apricot richness, touch of vanilla, cilantro, coconut, fresh flowers, pepper, leather, and a hint of malt. Palate is superb with its brisk, yet restrained carbonation. Extremely complex flavors. Iron notes emerge before notes of grass, pepper, and lemon. Finishes notably dryish with notes of dusty yeast, wood, juicy Styrians, earth, and pear. So dry, musty, yeasty, and earthy. Quintessential Saison.
