Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

For export relabeled as "Vieille Provision".

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2010 Bottle. Rerate. Rerated yet again 3-6-10. Huge, frothy, rocky, lasting white head. Hazy golden body. Big aroma of lemon, coriander, clove, flowers, toasted grain, mustiness, baind-aid and straw. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately to heavily bitter and very dry just as you should expect from a great saison. The bitterness is long lasting. Peppery taste with notes of lemon and herbs. Medium body with a velvety texture. Lively carbonation. Complex aroma is eclipsed by the interplay between yeast and hops. My appreciation for this beer has grown immensely the more beers of all styles I try, especially saisons. Iíve now had this beer numerous times, on tap and from bottles. It has disappointed a couple of times, but only because what was served was old. Recently, I had a bottle as fresh as I have ever had it. The balance between the bitterness and the subtle flavors and aromas was perfect. And the bitterness was appreciably more than I have had it before. This beer is as good as it gets.

2005 750 ml Bottle: Honey colored pour with a tall, frothy head that settles into a creamy cap. The nose is lightly fruity - apple and pear with undertones of oaky vanilla, coriander honey malts, cereal and graham cracker. Medium bodied with a lush, creamy mouthfeel. The body is loaded with sweet, bready malts, bursting with more honey glazed fruit and vanilla. The finish is slightly bitter, yet comfortably dry. Very good.

Bottle Nice hazy light-amber color with small particles moving around the glass. Big, rocky, off-white head long lasting that leaves an excellent lacing, not to continue calling it head :P. Delicious aroma of fruits (some apples)and spice with notes of burnt wood, wheat, flowers and toasted grains. The flavor is overall sweet and spicy, typically Belgian, with a slightly bitter end. Its medium body and lively carbonation make this beer incredibly refreshing. Very, very good :D

37.5 cl bottle into glass, Bier Circus, Brussels. Since I didnít really have much to eat today, I decided to take it easy on this next one and not try to sample more dope shiz (since Iím kind of tipsy). Also, Iíve never had this, even though itís classic. Itís beautiful to look at: damn fluffy whipped egg head, so persistent; it lasted all the way through at a more-than-dusting thickness. With the head and the almost-opaque murkiness of the yellow-brown body, I expected this to be much thicker; as it was, it was only on the full side of medium bodied. Smell was a woody and yeasty version of buttery gnocchi dough, with some banana and ginger accents. Flavor was...interesting...and challenged by vocabulary for most of half a bottle. Iím still not confident I know how to describe it: there was a slab of uniformity that dominated throughout like sweet butter on sourdough, slightly flabby but with a soft sweetness that also reminded me of meringue. Occasionally defeating this blanket of uniformity was some hop bitter and coriander. Overall, surprisingly bland.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2007 Bottle at Eurohappy: Pours a cloudy but brilliant amber color with visible particles and a big, thick white head that lasts for long. Whoa! What a lacing!. Aroma is fruity, estery with notes of vanilla, apple, herbs and spices like cardamom and coriander. Nice hints of pineapple too and some other tropical fruits. Flavor is sweet and spicy/yeasty. Light with obvious wheat traces. It resembles a more powerful Hoegaarden. Nice and refreshing. Mouthfeel is of a light Belgian Ale, slightly thicker than water. Carbonation is high but not excessive. Bold finish followed by a good and lingering aftertaste. Great beer.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2006 750ml Bottle- Pours a hazy golden color. Very bright and attractive. Head is the thickest white foam head ever. Sculptable, thick and foamy like an egg white. The aroma is beautiful Saiso so so son aromas. Spicy with that great wheaty belgian aroma comes through. The body is wheaty and spicy while the hotter spices come to the front and tickle the nose. Flavor is amazing, refreshing, citrus, spice, relaxing, easy drinking. Great brew.

From 375ml. Golden pour with thick, tight white head. Earthy yeast nose, spices, bready, maybe even a little cheese, lots going on. A sharp yeasty spice on the tongue is complemented by a soft palate, and dry finish.
