4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: DEC 4, 2009 On tap @ hopleaf. Hazy orange color with a white head. Yeasty, spicy, citrus nose. Yeasty, chalky, leomon citrusy flavor. Very full mouthfeel. Citrusy, slightly sour, yeasy finish. Very nice.
Additional notes : Earthy aroma, with sharp wheat, a touch of brett hiding in the corner, lemon, pears, and spice as well. Great mouthfeel, very full for such a well attenuated beer, helped, of course by the carbonation. The taste is sharp wheat, black pepper, citrus, yeast. It is amazingly flavorful. Great beer. Rating stays the same.
I am drinking a 375ml bottle that was purchased in town. Bought at KS Lukas. This beer has the good fortune of staying out of the direct sun, so it has none of the skunkiness I have gotten from local bottles. I think my prior ratings are accurate, but I think a 4.0 was a little low. I raised it to a 4.4, this is an amazing beer.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I was a little dissapointed in this beer. Perhaps I was expecting too much, and my bottle was a little light=struck as well. Underneath, the aroma was subtly fruity and yeasty and pleasant. It was balanced and dry and overall a good beer- I wish I wish I wish there were no green bottles!!!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy honey with the swiss alps on top that formed excellent lacing. So effervescent, it was hard to pour. Sweet and sour, tangy, granny smith apples with some black cherry and wood aroma. The flavour, though dry, is bursting with floral and fruity essences: strawberry, apple, banana. Good bitterness, but perhaps not from hops (wood?). Light body and explosive carbonation and a nice clean finish. Very refreshing.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 18, 2006 bottle 375 ml. Semi clear pale golden w big slightly off white rocky head. Aroma is the slightly skunky Euro type in the bottle hops & spicey Belgian yeast, slightly clovey w a touch of lemon citrus and light malt. Flavor is light, delicate, very clean, a bit tart, light malt w subtle spices & a trace of lemon citrus. On the upper end of light bodied but with a very noticable complexity that was delightful. Very nice slightly sweet, spicy, bitter finish. I could have drank a gallon of this. Wonderfull stuff.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
333ml bottle-pours a cloudy apricot/hazy orange hue with a sudsy white head. Agressive carbonation true to style. Banana, corriander, brett, slight barnyard/farmhouse aroma that was present, but not pungent like the monitte i had a week earlier. Sour, spicy flavors that consisted of banana, lemon, herbal notes, brett funk and some grains. Fizzy body, but true to style. Probably the best saison i have ever had.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was very nice. Poured a cloudy orange with off white fizzy head. Lacing was good. Citrus and grass and yeasty nose. Taste had banana and grape and spice, pepper? The malt was hidden really. Very good Saison.

Wonderful Saison. Spicy with earthy tones, some malt aroma. Starts estery and spicy and finishes smooth and yeasty. Well worth the price, I love this beer. Bottle was stored on its side (I could see the yeast sediment), why oh why :)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours cloudy orange like a good block of cheddar, with a thick, ivory head. Aroma is yeast and citrus, with a hint of malt. The mouthfeel is between thick and thin. First taste presents several spices, notably nutmeg and ginger. The finish is yeasty, with a cameo by the malt. A nice saison that is worth the price.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Spicy peppery hints in mildly sweet estery fruitiness. Yeasty and barnyard bitter with astringency and notes of peach. Golden amber, slight haze, with creamy-rocky meringue off-white lacing head. Medium to thin body with mild-medium carbonation. Starts fruity and spicy, with beautiful round estery notes and yeastiness. Finish is sweet with strong bitterness and floral notes. Chalky and papery after. Nice saison, and seemed to have traveled well.
