Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

For export relabeled as "Vieille Provision".

330ml bottle from Bevmo. Light yellow, hazy pour with a very soapy head. Aromas were lemon and spice. Flavors were fruity with black pepper. Very dry finish. Almost more like a tripel to me.

Light gold body, slight chill haze. Rocky, sticky head. Lemony, grassy, slightly cheesy aroma. Great medium body, lush maltiness overbalanced (in a good way) by bitter, assertive hops. Long drying finish.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2009 Combined ratings from draft (Brick Store Pub) and bottle (vintage 2007 rated 5/13/2009). Pours light golden with a foamy, mostly maintained white head. Aroma of herbs, honey, banana, bubble gum, strawberries, and mild noble hops. Taste is lightly sweet with toasted malts and bitter spicing. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lush carbonation. Quite refined and a delight to drink.

33cl bottle, 2003 consumed 3/2006 Ė Golden, with an incredible thick everlasting white head; Deep, deep nose with a near perfect balance between malt, hop and yeast. Citrus, fresh pine etc, etc, etc; The body is medium full and very soft, the carbonation is huge and fills your mouth completely; Long bitter, soft complex finish. Great, very well balanced beer. DUPONT-RULES!

Bottle. Cloudy blond pour with a small head. A yeasty aroma to it, with a little sweetness. Had a fruity taste to it. I liked this very much.

Good solid beer....nice malty flavor and smell with a decent offset of hoppiness. Beautful head, great smooth mouthfeel. Went down way too fast.

straw like in color thick frothy head great retention. It had some fruity and somewhat grassy. Its inital taste seemed some what sour but had some banana like notes. finish was slightly hoppy wiht yeasty malt notes being more pronounced. It was really um bubbly on the palate.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2008 Golden pour, HUGE head that got bigger as it sat there in my glass. Absolutely gigantic. Aroma is kinda funky, farm-like, a little sour. I can deal with this amount of sourness. So, Iíve got a glass of beer with a giant mountain of foam on top of it and Iím not sure what to do. Letís measure it! 1 and 3/4 inches of foam in the glass, 1 and 1/2 inches above the glass. And itís not receding. Damn. (TIME ELAPSED 5 MINUTES) Alright weíve got the head to dissipate. Now for a tasting. First impression is that itís dry. Not as dry as Orval, but damn dry. Itís kind of refreshing though. A little fruity, and as noted by others, earthy. A little bit herbal, slightly sour. Itís pretty soft on the tongue, despite high carbonation. Pretty good stuff, this saison.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Golden yellow colour, hazy with a firm white head. Powerful nose with a dry fruity character of citrus, hops and yeast. Huge, earthy taste with hops, citrus and spices (canít really put my finger on any specific spice, but there are lots of them here). Long, hoppy aftertaste. Nothing for the "gimmeanotherordinarylager-drinker", but a truly lovely beer in my opinion.

Bottle at The Kulminator, Antwerp. Cloudy gold with lasting ivory head. Lovely creamy saison with bit of toffee. Highly drinkable. Good hop balance. In fact hops are excellent. Some almost buttery hop aroma and good in mouth
