Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

Sampled from magnum bottle. Pours hazy orange with a creamy off-white head and intricate lacing. Aroma is orange, clove, horseblanket, and other spices. Flavor is balanced up front and tart with a lingering bitterness. Citrus, banana and a medley of spices present. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated. A well-made beer and a must try. This is the gold standard (but not my favorite example) of the style.

Bottle from State Line, Elkton, MD. Pours hazy gold with a 3-finger blanket of white head that looks like new fallen snow. Concentric lace rings were left after I drank this one. The aroma is barnyardy, with hops, citrus, some earthy hints, and some horse blanket. The taste is citrusy, with hops, some floral spicy notes, and more barnyard. Medium palate, this one gets smoother and well rounded as it warms.

Pours a hazy straw with a whipped egg white head. Lightly sweet and spicy mineral and barnyard aroma with some black pepper and so much more. Sharp and tart, bitter and floral. Light and spritzy. Very good ale that varies somewhat from bottle to bottle. I could drink it every day.

I donít care how popular or widely distributed a beer is, that doesnít mean itís not a good beer and Saison Dupont is a good beer. Beautiful big white head. Drinkablilty is extremely high due to itís really light dry palate. Nice hoppy little bitter backbone as this one finishes. Alcohol % is perfect to sip on for awhile. Canít find much to not like about this one.

Cloudy pale golden beer, with a frotty head. Strong orange, spicy and flower aroma, with some subtle malt. Bitter, but refreshing mouthfeel, with a sweet fruity undertone.

Bottle, 33cl. Hazy golden colour with a fine white head. Aroma is moderately yeasty, with notes of malt and lemon. Overpowering yeasty flavour, oddly biter. Slightly too much dry for my taste. Lively carbonation. Unfortunatelly, not one of my favourites.

Strong earthy/yeasty taste that reminded me of hay, with some hints of bubblegum beneath. Refreshing, easy to drink, and just plain fantastic.
