Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

For export relabeled as "Vieille Provision".

Draft at Zenoís, Cheers guys! Aroma is what really won me over. Very sweet and delicate flavor. Closer to the nose and the smell really stands out. What a pleasant aroma, very crisp, fruitty scent. Keeps a nice head and goes down extra smooth. It was 90 degrees today and this one hit the spot. The flavor bursts on the tongue leaving a palate that is never quite satisfied. Very clean taste with slight citrus notes. Nice carbonation. I think the best way to describe having this on draft is that it is mildly pleasant. This put a nice smile on my face. Cheers!

375ml corked and caged bottle pours cloudy golden with lots of carbonation rising to the top and a big rocky white head that stays very well and laces the sides of the glass in spiderweb like patterns. Aromas of yeast, sour guezelike funk, and some spice. Flavor is yeasty, dough, a touch of lemon, a bit of spice, and some musty basement that I actually found intriguing. Nice complex flavor for a low alcohol brew. Quite dry and light on the palate with good carbonation. Very refreshing and enjoyable..

gold color with a huge fizzy white head. Aroma is sour and a little bret funk. Luckily the flavor isnít nasty funk and sourness. There is some sourness but a lot of sweetness to help balance it out. One of the better saisons Iíve had but i just donít dig the style.

What a great beer this is! It pours nice and golden, with a massive, big creamy head. It smells great. tastes even better. Nice and fruity but not over bearing. Just right. One of my favorite Belgian beers.

375ml bottle. Pours a cloudy blonde color with a tight white head that last. Aroma has a lot of spiciness to it...a little bit of wheat. A little bit of sweetness in the body, but a lot of carbonation and a tart finish. Thereís just a shade of fruitiness. Body is medium light. Overall, itís a very nice beer, though lighter than most saisons Iíve had. Itís definitely a summer version of this style.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2007 Re-rate (5/07), draft at FBC in Flagstaff, over two years after first experiencing this in a bottle: The pour was a nice effervescent, sparkling straw color with a nice thin off-white head and some haziness, yet not cloudy. The aroma was wonderful, some yeast, but nice hops, citrus notes, not a lot of funk going on. The flavor was excellent, a nice wheaty element, citrus notes, bready, and a peppery hoppy finish. The mouthfeel was dry, yet for a saison not so much, enough to leave a nice crisp and refreshing cleanness to the finish. The latter is so nice and drinkable, this is up there at the top of my now more deep saison experiences. Itís not complex and wonít give the Fantomeís a run for their money on creativity, but in terms of refreshing drinkablility (something I enjoy in a saison), spot on. Bumping the aroma up. Original rating (4/05): I was highly disappointed when I popped the cork on this one: pure skunk smell. Combine that with the green bottle and I was about to throw the $5 bottle against the wall. However, the pour improved my perception with a nice head and a great unfiltered golden appearance with sediment floating around (I love that look, personally). The flavor was darned good. Typical yeasty and maltiness like a heffe or even witbeer. Yet, this one was not flowery or fruity and was more dry with a hops presence. Mouthfeel was hearty with substantial carbonation. I enoyed this one (my first "saison"), but probably wonít return at the price.

Bottle: Slighty hazy, light orange pour. Big white stiff foamy head. Amazing lacing. There is some sediment. Aroma is a little funky, lemon, some basement odors, some spice, and a little malt in the background. Very smooth. Pleasent flavor, some malt, a little bitterness, some slight sour/tartness. Finish is dry. This is pretty good stuff.

Yellow-orange with slight haze. Lots of carbonation. Large, lasting, off-white, rocky head. Some sediment. Lemony, spicy aroma with some yeasty, musty notes. Sharp, cirtic, spicy, bitter flavor. Long bitter/sour finish. Strong peppery phenol notes in flavor and finish. Light body. Very dry palate and finish. Very refreshing, effervescent mouthfeel.
