Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

Draught at Toronado, 05.22.04 Cloudy hay color, thick, frothy head. Aromas of light fruits, some sourness, plum, lime, underripe apple. Something chivey or garlicy about the stuff that is not at all unpleasant. Grapeskin astringency is cheel puckering but really compliments the flavor. Very fresh and raw tasting.

Wonderful aroma, malty, a little dry, bit spciy, some dusty attic. More dryness in the finish although not overly so.

Bottle: Poured a huge clear golden brew (after the cork blew out of that one) with a huge head with medium retention. Aroma is a mix of spice and malts with some citrus flavour being omnipresent. Taste is like a good Belgian ale with again the citrus flavour really coming out of that one. Carbonation is good with excellent medium body. Overall, a very good example of the saison style. The only downside is that the green bottle doesn’t seem to keep the beer very well. I’ve had too many bad past experience of this beer being skunked. I have another bottle of that batch that I will try to age.

This puppy pours a radiant golden/orange body and an amazing fluffy cream hued head! Beautiful presentation! I can’t get over the amazing creamy features of that whipped cream head!
The aroma is airy and relaxing… reminds me of a country summer evening for some reason. Noting: Wheat and Hay, lemons and orange, plums and a biscuity maltyness on top.
The flavor also brings a citrus resemblance, some horse stables, and some wet grassy meadows after a summer rain. This beer evokes more imagery for me than it does any tangible flavor mentions?
The mouth feel is oily.. with a sharp DRY citric and yeasty barnyard finish. A very delightful beer, airy and unique… Would be a great accompaniment to an aged hunk of Stiltion or Maytag Blue Cheese!

Golden in colour with a huge head. Aroma is yeast with a touch of spice. Flavour is yeasty, earthy, fruity and lightly bitter with a long dry finish.

One of the better examples of a style that is not a favorite. Clear yellow with brief white head. Musty, fruity, yeasty nose. Medium body. Flavor was somewhat sweet and somewhat spicy. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t good either.

#420!!! This rating is my greatest milestone yet. I’m getting vaklmpt. Untwisted the cork wire and the cork blew off. Pours a lite blonde with a HUGE bubbly head. Aromas similar to that of Cinq Cents accept more fruity. Stale noble hops with hints of orange and mangos. Palate is lite and the beer is alive on the tongue from all of the CO2. Very refreshing and drinkable. Flavor of ripe fruits with a slight sourness and a lingering sweetness that rests on the tongue instead of coating it. An amazing beer that I look forward to drinking more of.

Wow just great. Have been wanting to try this for quite some time. The nose and taste both had some hops to it but there was definately a huge impact of yeast and wheat with a malty under-tone that made this a very pleasant experience. Pretty darn good.

330ml bottle - Slightly hazed golden body with lively carbonation. Medium airy white head. Interesting aroma; yeast, spices, and some sweetness. The flavor complments the aroma well. Fruity and yeasty. Body is medium and the finish is pleasingly dry. This is a really good saison, really conjures visions of a quaint Belgian Farmhouse.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2007 Bottled, July 07, 3.8: Sweet citrus and grass aroma. Yellow color, large white head, good lace. Malty, hint of citrus, grassy, pretty bitter especially in the finish, herbal, blue cheese. Quite full and alcoholic. Bottled, Oct 04, 4.3: Light citrus aroma with strong typical hop. Hazy, yellow color, white head, very good lace. Light sweet, bitter, very hoppy, pepper, medium body and a little dry finish. Very good example of a traditional saison.
