Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

For export relabeled as "Vieille Provision".

Green ass friggin bottle. You think they might care about this lasting through the long haul here and who knows the time and conditions in the store. But no. so I got to open something that smelled like a skunked heineken with some extra sugar and spices. Damn. I give it a bad rating for that, that’s right. My experience with this beer sucked and it was the brewers fault for putting something idiotic like the cosmetic green glass (I guess it matches their colors on the label...who gives a crap) over beer quality.

12.7 oz bottle. Pours almost all head. Whipped marshmallow with emerging clear golden ale. Broken lacing persists. Lemon wheat with some barnyard floral. Bubblegum with crisp bitterness. Surprisingly full mouth feel from such a light beer.

Hopscotch got this nose perfect!! I quote "Fruity nose with notes of green banana, clove and pink bubblegum". It has a dirty unfiltered look which i liked, very fizzy and large white head, it has a kink of electric yellow light density body. Very dry bitter finish. And i know this doesnt sound like a good beer, but it is...

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2006 I’ll give you balanced and belgian but there was not much beautiful in this one for me. Too sweet and citrusy for me. That skunkiness comes through too and I am still not sure if that is bad beer or supposed to be there. Big white head on this one. Tastes of malt and orange. Re-rate way higher. This hit the spot on a summer evening. Not as complex as I would like but no skunkiness and all sweet and citrusy goodness.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2015 I can’t say it actually tastes like any cheese, but it reminds me of cheese. It has that same creamy/slightly oily texture and tanginess about it. Other flavors are pepper, lemon, grass/hay, sourness, corriander. A very complex beer. Nice and dry all the way through. Definitely has that funky horseblanket thing going on. A nice light refreshing beer with huge flavor.

Bottle... Murky, yellow ale with a large, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Fruity nose with notes of green banana, clove and pink bubblegum. The flavor is medium-bitter and full of citrus fruit and wheat. Medium-bodied and dry with lively carbonation. Crisp, dry finish.

330ml bottle from Bevmo. Light yellow, hazy pour with a very soapy head. Aromas were lemon and spice. Flavors were fruity with black pepper. Very dry finish. Almost more like a tripel to me.

Light gold body, slight chill haze. Rocky, sticky head. Lemony, grassy, slightly cheesy aroma. Great medium body, lush maltiness overbalanced (in a good way) by bitter, assertive hops. Long drying finish.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2009 Combined ratings from draft (Brick Store Pub) and bottle (vintage 2007 rated 5/13/2009). Pours light golden with a foamy, mostly maintained white head. Aroma of herbs, honey, banana, bubble gum, strawberries, and mild noble hops. Taste is lightly sweet with toasted malts and bitter spicing. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lush carbonation. Quite refined and a delight to drink.

33cl bottle, 2003 consumed 3/2006 – Golden, with an incredible thick everlasting white head; Deep, deep nose with a near perfect balance between malt, hop and yeast. Citrus, fresh pine etc, etc, etc; The body is medium full and very soft, the carbonation is huge and fills your mouth completely; Long bitter, soft complex finish. Great, very well balanced beer. DUPONT-RULES!
