Good solid Belgian golden-orange ale, with a nice creamy head and a lot of banana on the tongue.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy orange, full of dark yeasties. The yeasties settled into an abstract puddle on the bottom of the beer about halfway through. Taste was of typical, dry saisaon fruitiness....not bad.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2003 Re-rate (10/03) AAHHHHHHHH! I finally found a bottle that wasn't skunked. I can appreciate it for what it is for the first time. Hazy orange/amber colour, big white frothy head. Sweet powdery aroma of peppery spices, hobey a bit of citrus fruits and a woody hint. The malts come out at first, the beer then goes to a fruity profile with a hint of sweetness, some peppery notes and back to a big dry finish.
Original:Hazy honey-like color with an atomic mushroom head. The first aroma to come out is skunk and it stays for a while. The damn SAQ's just don't understand that it's not a good idea to store their beers next to a window. After a couple of minutes, I'm able to smell some spicy lemon, yeast and a bit of alcohol. This beer has some complex herbal flavours but, unfortunately, the skunk flavor is omnipresent. I can see the potential of this beer but I've never been able to buy one that wasn't skunked.

enoyable, spicy, herby sort of flavour, bit peppery, very fresh and lively, quite fizzy aswell, nice without being exceptional.

You have to let this sit and warm a little to let the complex flavors explode. Light but many citrus flavors.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light hazy orange color with a tight medium head that diminishes quite quickly. Firm and dry. Citric fruit yeastiness. Aroma of wild yeast. Quenching and potent, but a bit to acidic in the finish.

I recall the first time I had this beer. A hot day in July; my partner and I cracked it open and poured out two glasses. The head was dense and fluffy, the bead vigorous, the beer golden, slightly hazy, and inviting. Then the flavor--an explosion of pepper, citrus, sweet malt, floral hops (all right, that was in my nostrils), all wrapped up in a lip-smacking, crisp palate. It begs for an immediate follow-up swig. Careful, though--it packs a punch. I think the thing I like the best about it is the cellar-y qualities: a dingy label and slighly musty yeast aroma.
