Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

For export relabeled as "Vieille Provision".

Restrained grassy floral aroma in a hazy golden pour. Sublimely balanced spicy fruit flavor is way lighter than the strength would indicate. A deserved benchmark of the style.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2016 In bottiglia. Colore giallo/arancio. Corta schiuma frizzante, di celere dissolvenza. Olfatto citrico fruttato non molto pronunciato, spezie (coriandolo), lievito. Carbonazione soffice.

Time to rate this venerable saison. The first time I had it, I didn’t really know anything about saisons, and I couldn’t understand what it was. Now I do. A: Cloudy gold with a huge white head. N: Gigantic funk, cracker, lemon rind, some green apple, earth, lavender, coriander, white peppercorn. Big floral elements, and noticeable malt. T: Moderately sweet and bitter, a little spicy. M: Light body, fizzy carbonation, no alcohol, slightly chalky. O: An intricate classic. In the day of super sour, barreled saisons, this one still stands out to me.

Kolor jasnego złota, piana niska, zamglone. Aromat zboża, stajni, pola i estry. W smaku bardzo rześkie, słodowe, przyprawowe, z dominującymi estrami. Goryczka niska, wysokie wysycenie, ciało dość niskie, co podwyższa pijalność.

Blond beer with a good white head, medium carbonation. Tastes malty, sweet, lots of fruit, little bitterness, lemon and slightly spicy. Good beer.

Grainy, hay, belgian pilsner malt, sweet hay with a touch of molasses like sweet animal feed aroma. Additionally smells fruity with apple/banana dominant with pear and peach notes thrown in. Hazy pale yellow with lasting thin white head. Taste reflect aromas but with biscuit impact, cleaner malt profile, and tons of yeast phenolics & esters, in a word complex. Though technically a fairly thin beer the mouthfeel is quite lush with a very dry finish leaving you wanting another sip. Low bitterness is key here as so many American versions seem to over do bitterness and under do attenuation. Overall it is simple proof that beer can be great food and that simple beer, which believe it or not Saisons are, can be great beer. No need for pretense here, this is straightforward goodness.

Bottle. Nice fruity aroma with Belgian yeasts. Light gold colour, a bit cloudy, small head and almost no lacing. Taste lightly sour, fruits, a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice, very refreshing.

Very stanard saison with lots of fruity character in it. Very pleasant apple, pear, grape, peach aroma, some spiciness. High carb light body. Fruity and spicy but taste is more spicier. Very tasty!
