Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

Bottle 0.33L. Hazy golden body with a huge, creamy, white head, fully lasting with very nice lacing; very high density of tiny particles. Moderate-to heavy malty (bread, grain) and hoppy (flowers, citrus) aroma with some fruity notes. Moderate-to-heavy sweet flavour with a moderate acidic character; very light bitterness in the finish. Dry body with an oily texture; lively carbonation; moderate astringency in the finish.

Couleur blonde avec beaucoup de dépot et une tete mousseuse assez interresante! Aromes d’agrumes,céréales, herbes. Interessante mais sans plus. Surévalué selon moi...

Draft at BD ShepBush. Pours hazy gold, fluffy white head fades quickly to a skin. Nose of bubblegum, pepper, orange, banana, hay. Tastes moderate sweet, hay, cereal, moderate bitter, some restrained noble hop character, lots of peppery spicy yeast aromatics, light banana bubblegum ester note, super dry finish. Light, crisp, clean body, plenty of prickly fine carbonation, long dry moderately hoppy finish with a touch of aromatics. Delicious, textbook.

bottle from plonk. banana and clove aroma a bit like a hefeweizen, but taste is more spicy peppery. Nice stuff. I should rerate this when I’m concentrating.

12.7 oz bottle (green glass? seriously?), poured into a tulip at approximately 45 degrees F. A: Pours a hazy pale straw gold, with an immense two-fists-of-fingers billowy white head. Little bits of oddness drift through the brew, eventually settling on the glass somewhere like tiny freckles. Columns of bubbles rush from the bottom of the glass as though it were an aquifer running through a volcanic vent zone. Lacing would be considered, as I believe the term goes these days, "cray-cray". S: The nose has some barnyard-style funk to it, complete with a mix of fresh grass and floral scents. There’s some breadiness in the aroma as well. T: This tastes much like it smells, opening with a mixture of light biscuit and funk, before shading into an overgrown meadow filled with grass and wildflowers. Tones of faint citrus and pollen make themselves known through the middle. The finish is quite dry, and leaves a lingering bitterness along side some slight black pepper presence. I get not much fruit character, nor much tartness - I am, however, sensitive to hop flavors, so it is possible any such notes are obscured by the grass and floral aspects to this beer. M: Light-bodied and heavily carbonated. O: I’ll open this part by restating my disclaimer that I am overly sensitive to hop flavors, and as such, my reviews likely do not apply to the majority. This beer is a tad heavy on the hops for my taste, obscuring most of the malt profile and likely much of the yeast complexity as well. This drank closer to a hoppy wheat ale than a saison for me. Other folks will likely find this to be balanced and more complex.

Pours a thick white head on top of a golden haze. Yeast notes are dominate right from the word go, freshly grated lemon zest on the nose pushing through all that yeast. Palate is spicy, cleansing, refreshing, long and lasting. Nothing more than a saison, but something every other saison should aspire to be

33cl bottle at Rataskaevu 16, Tallinn. Hazy golden to orange with a large and lasting white head. Fruity and yeasty aroma with spicy notes and hints of citrus. Moderate sweet with nice fruity and yeasty flavours, balanced acidity and a slightly dry finish. It was certainly about time to try this one again. Refreshing and quite delicious!

Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with big, pillowy head that reduces steadily but lasts and lasts. The aroma is yeast and lemon, with an underlying funk. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one here who initially thought this must be skunked in its green bottle. The first taste is barnyard and basement, with lingering bitter decay. Best to plan a long, lingering lunch and keep this close by, perhaps lightly chilled. The funk subsides with aeration, and over an hour or two this hits about every taste note there is: bread and lemon, wheat and pepper, nuts and leaves, banana and clove, bitter, sweet and everything in-between. If you’re really in a hurry, wait 10 minutes and quaff a cold, lemony and piney mouthful. Otherwise, your experience of this beer varies wildly by time, temperature and accompaniment. It rewards patience with variety.
