Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

DATE TASTED: August 25, 2013 ... GLASSWARE: Duvel snifter... OCCASION: drafting while draughting--a perfect beer for a fantasy football draft!... APPEARANCE: pale, cloudy yellow heather body with a half-glass mushroom cloud of soft white head--as attractive as C.J. Spiller, my first rounder... AROMA: clean, grassy, lemony roundness with enough vanilla and citrus medley to complicate the nostrils ...PALATE: goodness, this is easy-drinking; a slightly warming finish does little to detract from the beer’s pleasant front-end presence and sipability...TASTE: a touch of sourness denotes the citrus presence, while the overall flavor is soft hoppy goodness, like a freshly mown lawn wafting... OVERALL: after the Dogfish Head 60 yesterday and this today, I probably could retire from summer beer drinking; as I remembered it, a refreshing, almost euphoric bottle that makes one question the need for another night’s drink; enough alcohol to be significant, weak enough to be enjoyed more than once...

Botella de 75 cl, color anarajado ( cambia algo segun se va echando) espuma blanca poco persitente. Aroma a citricos y levadura.

Hazy to cloudy yellow color, huge white head. Hoppy, peach and moderate sour aroma, taste is same. Creamy texture, thin body, lively carbonation. Nice.

Bottle @ home. Pours with a light orange hazy colour, big long lasting frothy white head. Aroma is quintessentially saisonish: rustic notes of basement aromas and barnyard, with a minor presence of hoppy aromas. Very good. Taste is medium sweet, slightly bitter, medium salty, slightly sour. Medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation.

Sure, there’s no "true" saison flavour, but this is - to my mind - the definition of a saison. The aroma is sweet orange, a little lemon a some really nice earthy notes plus the slightest hint of banana. The taste has a pleasant hop bitterness with more of that earthiness and plenty of sweet malt. The palate is thick and the flavour runs deep into the throat. Just so lovely.

Bottle. This one’s a classic, you’ll find hundreds of reviews below that spell it out. Fruity, dry, lively, extremely drinkable. Pretty in the glass. Excellent example of the style, natch. I should always have one of these in my fridge. It would go well with almost any meal and any occasion.
