grandridge (125), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Apr 9, 2008 I’m finially getting around to rating one of my favorites. 750mL bottle, pours golden with yeast circulating around this brew like a lava lamp. Massive white head that just lingers forever forming craters as it slowing dissapates. Aroma is fruity citrus, yeast, and floral hops. Mouthfeel is rich and soft, it almost feels like cotton with carbonation. Flavor is top notch, highly carbonated , citrus, hops, lemon, malt all working in a harmonious balance. It’s a freakin’ party in my mouth.
mjs (463), Finland Aug 8, 2008 (Bottle, 0.75 l, at Kaisla on 2008-08-06) Orange. Hazy. Big white head that did not last long. Sour and yeasty nose. Full-bodied palate with lot of carbonations. Turns a bit dry. Salty liquorice. yest, bitterness, fruitiness, sourness, grapefruit and citric aromas in taste. Very nice. Odeed (1466), Bakersfield, California, USA Aug 6, 2008 murky yellow with a white head.the aroma blends up caramel malts, dry hay, belgian yeast, and fruits.the flavor does much of the same with a slightly dry and tart finish. trokini (830), San Diego, California, USA Aug 4, 2008 Pours hazy yellow with a big white head. Patchy lacing. Citrus, yeast, pepper, and a musty aroma. Crisp taste, good amount of lemon zest, pepper, and spice. Still, a musty overtone that leaves a metallic bite. Enjoyable. hopeye101 (11), Cedar Park, Texas, USA Aug 3, 2008 It’s summertime in Texas and that means I drink a lot of saisons.
Saison Dupont is one of my favs.
Poured into a gimme wine glass. Substantial head. Lots of fluffy Belgian foam.
Scent is fruity , pears, but some funkiness also.
Taste: Fruity that fades to dryness, just the right amount of sour. Fine bubbles dance on my palate.
Mouthfeel: see above. very nice.
Drinkability : drinks like a 4%abv beer. Great beer for texas summers.
Serving type: bottle EricE (199), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Aug 2, 2008 Pours like a glass of sparkling wine. Very bubbly. Golden pour with lots of carbonation and a thick fluffy white head. Spicy peppery aroma. With some fruit, perhaps apple a bit of sweetness. Very dry flavor with with lots of spice. A bit of earth and wood and a touch of fruit. Very refreshing.
