Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

I recall the first time I had this beer. A hot day in July; my partner and I cracked it open and poured out two glasses. The head was dense and fluffy, the bead vigorous, the beer golden, slightly hazy, and inviting. Then the flavor--an explosion of pepper, citrus, sweet malt, floral hops (all right, that was in my nostrils), all wrapped up in a lip-smacking, crisp palate. It begs for an immediate follow-up swig. Careful, though--it packs a punch. I think the thing I like the best about it is the cellar-y qualities: a dingy label and slighly musty yeast aroma.

Nice golden blond liquid, large head. Strong and fresh aroma of hops and citrus. Medium body, little carbonation. Taste is bitter, a bit sour and a bit sweet.

Lemon rind and yeast on the nose. Sweet like a Belgian wit at first then dry and bit more bitter. Aroma and finish reminiscent of a fine gueuze. Flavors more like a sweet tripel then changing to more leathery yeast. Way bomb!

330ml Bottle BBE: 04/2018. Cellar temp. (+1hr@RT). Pours a cloudy pale amber/orange body with floaters and a towering, pillowy, off-white head. Medium-low intensity nose, with hints of corned beef, baking bread, lemon, pepper, barnyard aromas, berries and classic Belgian yeast. A medium bubble-gum and raspberry sweetness is backed up by a light bitterness. Medium-bodied with a slightly chewy texture, low carbonation and a lovely, long, gently warming finish. A classic beer that gives more and more after the first sip. Not overly sweet, but so many flavours to pick out.
