COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is spicy and sweet, and not overpowering, taste is bitter and zesty, with a little sweetness, but dry. Very full and frothy.

Oh, to be in Belgium once again... so many great beers, so many varieties of brew. Someday. In any event, I’ve been trying several American version of this style, and without doubt I have found my summer beer style this early spring. All that remains is finding one that I can actually afford. Saison Dupont may be the Ur-saison, the original of this style, and it is a fine one. Poured into a Spencer trappiste goblet, with quite a gush of foam, it is a yeasty, spicy, pale yellow brew with a bit of bitterness at the end. The bottle I have is brown glass with a checkered design behind the lettering, not the greenie pictured here.

Bottle. Clear golden colour. Medium white head. Aroma of citrus, funk, spices, and yeast. Flavour of spices, yeast, some citrus toward the end. Long dry finish. Some lasting astringency. Medium body and medium-high carbo. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of fruits, citrus, malty notes, funky yeast, spicy notes, hint of hops. Flavour is moderate sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Maybe not the absolute best, but a classic Saison.

Bottled. Bright and almost completely clear as I avoided pouring the yeast. A golden colour with noticeable carbonation but a minimal off-white head. The yeast is very evident, with a slight spicyness (cloves), bubblegum, and some fruit on the nose - all of it very well balanced, nothing overpowering. Sweet, refreshing, citrus flavours, with the bitterness and hint of spice coming afterwards. Exceptionally clean, refreshing and well balanced. Very good.

A classic. Golden, well carbonated. White consistent head which clings to the glass. Fresh Belgium aroma. Dry but leaves your mouth not feeling dry afterwards. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden lightly hazy coloured beer with a pillowy large slowly fading head and good lacings. Aromas of barnyard, fresh straw, hay and farmhouse aromas as well as funk aromas and earthy notes develop. Fine smoothly carbonated with a medium body. Complex tastes of a mix of sweetness, light tart bitterness and a hint of astringency develops. Medium lasting balanced finish.

Bottle from Systembolaget, Sweden. Best before nov - 2017. Pours clear, golden with a three finger high, fluffy white head that sinks down to a thin layer pretty fast. Nose: Belgian yeast, grass, hay, citrus, sweet malt and spices. Taste: Citrus, grass, spices, herbs, peach, orange and green apples. Body: Medium body with crisp carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. Very balanced. I can understand why this Saison has set the "standard" for all others!

Bottle. Pours slighlty hazy golden with small colapsing head. Aroma of cittrus, spices. Taste is similar as well as crisp, refreshing, a bit pepery and a nice dry finish.

Color is golden and clear, huge head that quickly vanishes. Aroma of malt, citrus and even a little frankincense. There’s a nice and subtile bitterness in the taste, which makes it an enjoyable, thirst-quenching beer.
