Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

750 ml bottle from the LCBO. BB 05-2017. Pours a cloudy yellow with copious white, lingering head. Nose: herbs and funk and some milk skunk. Effervescent mouthfeel. Taste: Really nice herbs, fruit, sweet, complex yeast flavour. Pure saison goodness. Refreshing, gulpable yet tasty.

Pours a little hazy dark golden body with a thick head. Yeasty and a little funky aroma. Nice taste of yeast, barnyard and a little bitterness at the end.

Tranparent bright yellow color, unfiltered body. Big, frothy head, persists quite a long time. Excellent lacing. Aroma of bread, little sugar, fruits. Medium body and carbonation. Intense, deep taste given its moderate alcohol rating, with bread, belgian yeasts, little of spices.

Lively, slightly hazy golden beer with a thick, frothy head. Hefty, grassy-fruit aroma. Lots going on in the flavour. Very hoppy, heavy citrus, airy, floral, slight fruity sourness to it. Backtaste is nice but if it was much stronger it’d be borderline sickly. I’m not sure I could drink a lot of it but it’s very nice.

This didn’t work for me, heavy hopped, heavy wheat and citrus, heavy carbonation to overpowering, will be on edge of Belgium in 2 weeks, will try again on home soil

Bottle. Hazy medium yellow with a medium and lasting white head. Nose is yeast notes, citrus, herbal/spicy notes, fruit. Flavor is malt, spice, hops, lime peel, sweetness, some acidity. Hops in the dry and bitter finish. A very nicely balanced saison.

The pour yields a medium golden body that starts out mostly clear, but becomes increasingly cloudy with each pour. A foamy, huge, head holds strong, fading very slowly. On the nose, grassy herbs come across slightly funky belgian yeast and pale, bready malts. The actual taste differs a lot from the aromas. It evokes a much warmer feeling on the palate, than the aromas revealed, due to soft yeast, straw, peppery hints, tart lemon, pear and spices. Has an incredibly smooth mouthfeel, which is just outraging soft on the palate, with added complexity from the slightly biting, savory spices among peppery notes and lively, metallic carbonation. Pleasant, floral hops act as an enjoyable counterpart, with the addition of earthy malts, to the sweeter spices. The palate is simply perfect, substantial and round up front, finishing very dry and lightly fizzy. Outstanding well balances beer, which is close to perfection in taste with a particular complex body.
