4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Quite simply, life is beautiful whenever I have a Saison Dupont in my hand. Neither too heavy nor too light, resplendent with perfectly balanced spice and citrus flavors which are held together by a sweet and sour yeast backbone, Saison Dupont will always be a first love for me and is always welcome in my bar.
Pours a rich cloudy orange, reminiscent of a winter’s sunset as I sit lazily in my chair and take in both views. Yeasty spice and old socks along with bitter citrus and coriander jump up and bite me in the nose. A wake up call to say “Hey. You know you want me so here I am”. Not one to neither deprive myself nor turn down a request from a Saison Dupont, I gladly take a quaff, then two. Nice light effervescence which helps to hide the slightly heavy body. The effervescence lends a thicker yet smooth mouthfeel which finishes with a sour citrus and spiced dry finish. A bit of orange peel later on in the palate as my Saison warms, with the spice kicking itself up a notch. Some coriander, maybe even a hint of pepper. Excellent finish – clean and crisp with just enough pucker to leave me craving more.
She is a new Saison, 2008, and it will be interesting to see how she mellows in a year or two. Very crisp, refreshing, and ripe with sour yeast, spice, coriander, and bitter citrus notes. I feel she will mellow a bit and blend together for an even smoother saison beer experience.

Diverse Flaschen. - Leicht kellerig-modrige Note, das unverkennbare Markenzeichen aller Dupont-Biere. Stark hefig-fruchtig und malzig. Knackig scharf gehopft mit fruchtigen Hopfenaromen (Zitrusfrüchte, Kräuter, Pfeffer). Kandissüß in der Mitte. Trockener Abgang; langer, sehr bitterer Nachtrunk. Von enormer Geschmacksfülle und dabei perfekt ausgewogen. - Anfangs gewöhnungsbedürftig, später einfach großartig.

A refreshing drinking experience, enjoyed outside in warmish weather with plenty of deli delight finger food. Let down by not being exciting or a standout, it’s a noteworthy Belgium beer all persons should try and pass verdict; sure to be reviewed again in the near future

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Eh! This Belgian ale is definitely hoppy, but only slightly. The metallic bitterness is a taste that is not my thing. The floral brew fall short of my expectations. Ok, imagine a table wine, designed to wet your whistle without altering your taste-buds all that much. The lightness here is simply not for a seasoned beer drinker. This is a bit more spruce, and grass than I would ever prefer.

(Bottle): Pours a murky gold with a white head. Aroma of grass, yeast, citrus zest. Flavour is packed full of yeast, grass, citrus fruits, herbs, pepper. Nice bit of sweetness to take the edge off the sour flavours. Refreshing bitterness and aftertaste has great staying power. Very drinkable.
