Pours a slightly hazy amber color - a little odd for the style, but no points lost here - lasting, creamy head on top - fairly soft on the palate for something with such lively carbonation - a bit zesty and herbal, with some bitter orange peel adding a tartness to it - a little sweet, with a kind of bready maltiness that again is odd for the style, but seems to work - quite earthy and subtle - pretty nice.

A very nice saison if not a little too sweet. Pour was so so. Coriander, orange and spices. Pour was a dark gold with a 2 finger off white head. Taste was nice. Sweet brown sugar, spices, coriander in the front with an almost ginger aftertaste. Great carbonation that bites the sides of the tongue. Very crisp. Nice saison.

This corked and caged bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a large sized head of foamy off-white colored bubbles that left behind a hazy strongly carbonated dark orange brown colored body. The aqroma contained mild coriander and soft spicy malty notes. The mouth feel was nice in its crips tingly start and finish. The flavor contained notes of crisp hops, malt, mild coriander and was semi sweet.

75cl bottle from World of Beer (Largo, FL). Rated on 5/3/08. Pours a clear dark amber color with one finger white head. Head recedes quickly but laces glass. Nose is complex with hints of fruit and cheese, french fries, cinnamon, bread, molasses and plums. Taste is slightly spicy and bitter with a bready-yeasty flavor and hints of vinegar and molasses. Medium-bodied all with a slightly watery finish. Notes of honey are present on finish as well. One of the better saisons we have tried of late.

The color of this Saison was quite deep orange and bordered on red. The carbonation was reserved, and the head was limited to about one to two fingers thick. The smell was floral, spicy, and a little hoppy, with some cheese like funk. The taste was crisp, tart, but not as funky as the nose led me to believe. There was some orange peel herbal spiciness, biut the overall flavor was blander than I had hoped for. As it warmed up, a little more sourness started to show up. A good beer, but other standard bearers of the style are noticeable better.

Sort of an orange color with a thick white head. Spicy upfront with hints of orange peel and banana. Not as funky as I thought it would be but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

bottle, at the Carolina Crew get together, provide by Angie & Shawn. Good aroma, sweet, banana, little funk. yeasty spice. Hazed orangy brown color, good head, ok lace. Sweet & sour flavor. Yeastiness kicks it up, get a strong clove streak. Lite body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. Wow, nice play with the aroma. Very drinkable for it’s abv. Kept me interested for a while, gotta look for this one while I’m out.

If I were tasting this in a blind tasting, I think I’d probably call it a spiced Abbey Dubble or something like that. Very dark, and very heavy and overly sweet. Interesting mix of flavors - apple pie, rum, caramel, molassess - but kind of a mess. too much alcohol and way too heavy. Seemed to lack finess.
