A faint metallic aroma is also present with a lightly floral nose. Seems lacking in terms of the pungency of the aroma. Quite dark for a Saison. Mildly hazy orangey-amber hued body with a smallish off-white head. Floral, sweet, malty start. Becomes mildly dry in the middle. Fruity, berry-like flavors to finish with some more floral notes. I am unsure what to think of this? Goblincat (356), Westland, Michigan, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 5, 2007 Pours a coppery honey color, with a nice sized light tan head. Sour fruit, spice, and banana nose. The taste is an odd earthy... kind of like the smell inside a barn would taste like if it could be tasted, though not in an entirely bad way. Underlying tastes include some spice, a bit of hops, and a touch of malt. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of yeast, funk, and various spices. The taste was the same with light caramel notes. Semi dry finish. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 21, 2007 Sampled from a 750 mL bottle courtesy of DYCSoccer17. Strange appearance for a "saison." Murky bright orange with fairly plentiful medium-density head. Very faint malty aroma, and a slight sprig of hops, lightly perfumey. Lacking in intensity in the aroma dept, although what’s there is just fine. Very fruity (tropical fruits) on first sip, somewhat spicy, lightly soapy, light bitterness. Finishes pretty sweet and not altogether hoppy. A dcenet beer but not really a saison - sort of a Belgian amber ale. mgumby10 (1850), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 22, 2007 Pours a very yeasty orange red. Pretty dark for a saison. Kinda wierd. Smells of spices, light citrus, pretty mellow overall. Taste is actually quite flavorful. A little bit light, but nice fruity spices. Pretty refreshing. Aftertaste has a little bitterness to it, but nothing offensive. Get a little heat off of those spices, but I think it gives the beer some character. Not bad. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 21, 2007 Pours a clear copper mahogany with a frothy, lightly-lacing off-white head. Sweet, biscuity Belgian malty aroma has some banana character and caramel. Body starts sweet and bready with some mild earthy spice and a slightly drier finish with hints of milk chocolate. A decent saison. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2007 750 ml bottle, from BevMo La Jolla. Pours deep, clear copper color with a few little floaties and a thick beigey head. Lightly tart fruity aroma, boysenberry, a little wild yeast character, bitter herbs, orange and spice. Toasty and fruity, tart and dry, a little dusty, lemon tea, cranberry, a little funk, yeast and earth, mellows as it warms. Medium body, creamy carbonation.
