| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2009 The appearance of this beer was a nice red color with a fluffy white head lazily floating atop the beer. The smell was a little funk (just a little) and some spices. The taste was good and had some tartness and sourness but not very much. It was also spicy and had a distinct taste that reminded me of watermelon (just barely). This was a pretty decent ale and it hid the alcohol well. Also, at $6 it was a good deal.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 29, 2009 22 oz bottle. Brown pour, surprisingly similar to an abbey dubbel in color and carbonation. Aroma of raisins, plums and faint straw. Taste of sweet malt and spices. Lacks the usual barnyard flavor, but still enjoyable. MaltOMeal (652), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 23, 2009 bottle thanks to zinister. Shared at the August tasting at my place. Pours a muddy brown with a thin, white head. Nose is of raisins and spice. This doesn’t smell like a saison. Taste is of raisins and other fruit along with spices. Rather thick for a saison. Not your typical saison, that is for sure. alagnak (335), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Pretty good gusher, this one. Aroma is nice funkiness, some dried fruit and a little booze. Flavor starts with a little bready yeast and light spice, and taken over by pretty pronounced bubblegum (Big League Chew, said my friend, and I think he’s right on) taste. Not like hefe bubblegum, but really interesting and very pleasant. Finish is a little alcohol and some light tartness. Really nice beer. petematte46 (221), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 14, 2009 95 degrees outside and I was excited for a refreshing Saison. Instead I got a delicious Belgian quad. If this beer were labeled a Belgian Quad, it would receive a 4.0. Considering it is labeled a Saison, I need to rate it as such. There was very little about this beer that carried Saison characteristics. The bottle was also sitting in my closet for a week resting, when I opened it I lost half the bottle, due to carbonation issues. Overall this was a fantastic beer. Exactly what I look for in a Belgian, not to sweet, great mouth feel, numbness on the tongue and pronounced Belgian yeast. Ungstrup (15111), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Bottled. Unclear dark golden with an off-white head. The aroma sweet with notes of yeast, over ripe fruits, malt, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, vegetables, lightly tart and dry finish. More like a imperial Biere de Garde, not that exciting. steview (901), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 29, 2009 the flavor is complex and well packaged - this is what stood out the most to me; dry and somewhat powdery with notes of apple and cheese also with pinches of spice as well as being sweeter and less peppery than some saisons; regardless of what I note I think overall this is great... It is smooth and entirely delicious! skortila (2903), Bunnik, Netherlands

Hazy, red-brown coloured beer with an off-white-beige head. The taste is a bit sweet, malty with apple, cheese, yeast. Round taste and full bodied. Dry. Very good brew.
