Amber in color, slightly hazy. Mouthfeel was very smooth. Flavors were spicy, bready, herby and sweet. Can’t really notice the alcohol much. I would recommend this saison. Very tasty. Pours a clear dark amber color with one finger white head. Head recedes quickly but laces glass. Nose is complex with hints of fruit and cheese, french fries, cinnamon, bread, molasses and plums. Taste is slightly spicy and bitter with a bready-yeasty flavor and hints of vinegar and molasses. Medium-bodied all with a slightly watery finish. Notes of honey are present on finish as well. One of the better saisons we have tried of late. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2006 Clear dark amber/mahogany with 2 finger off white head. Aroma is quite nice, but nothing like a saison, more belgian dubbel almost. Plenty of caramel, dark fruit, tiny bit of floral, and very faint yeast, but caramel/sweet malt really dominates everything. Flavor is all caramel through and through, barely able to detect anything else. Faint banana and spice but not much else. Really isn’t a bad beer, just not a saison. Sweetness becomes very cloying by the end of the bottle. TURDFERGUSON (1609), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA

Poured a murky orange golden with no head and a little ring of lace. Nose was spicey, bready, and yeasty. Flavor has a bit too much alcohol noticeable with more spicey yeast and pepper. Not a huge fan of this one or this take on the style. legion242 (1588), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 28, 2008 Some good malt, more then expected really in a saison. Maybe the drakest in colour saison that I have ever seen. Passable, but not at the price I paid, though that is no fault of the beer’s, but of the retailer I got it from. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2006 From a 750 ml. caged corked bottle, the plastic cork has what looks like a coded freshness date on it, sampled at cellar temperature in a chalice.
Poured a reddish orangey amber with a fluffy, frothy head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing, small amount of laced sticking.
Aromas of wild, barnyard yeast, toasted caramel and nutty grain, an earthy spiciness, and a light berry fruitiness.
Good active carbonation and a dry, crisp, velvety, carbonated smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Pleasant tasting, toasted nutty grain, caramel and cocoa, the barnyard yeastiness is more subdued than in the smell, a berry with lemon squeezed over them fruitiness, an earthy, spicy soft bitterness, a flash of alcohol flavor towards the end and a dry yeasty, malty finish.
Not bad, easy, smooth drinkability, well worth trying if you see it on the shelves.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2008 Aroma is some sourness. Mostly sour fruit like cherry and sour apple. Some funk but not killing the tartness. Taste is pretty nice and sweet to balance the crisp tart funk. Taste has more fruit sweetness than the aroma. Deceiving at first. Overall I liked this one.
