BoBoChamp (299), Gent, Belgium Jul 22, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, easy to drink, not complex, cloudy, good head, nice brew, but nothing special Nate (2195), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2008 From bottle at Village Tavern in Hammonsport. Very mild grainy aroma, with a bit of sweet candi sugar and dusty straw, mild cardboard. Light grassy hops. Cloudy light brown-amber, with thin off-white fizzy head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with a bit of pils malt sweetness, light citrus bitterness, and dusty cardboard. Watery but not skunky or overly stale, but not crisp or punchy. Mild bitter finish but dull smooth after. Not a very good saison. JFURYCAT (705), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 I did not mind this one at all as its accentuated towards the yeasty grassy side with some fruit tones. It was rather easy to drink for a saison. Nothing earth shattering but tasty nevertheless. aconley (9), Numazu, Japan does not count Jun 19, 2008 A nice beer overall but compared to many other Belgium beers this one is a little mellow. The balance is a little off with this beer and the alcohol flavor comes through a little too strongly especially for a beer that is only 5% alcohol. VitaminR (242), USA Jun 14, 2008 Dark toffee and caramelized raisins on the nose. Hazy red-orange color with a pillowy long lasting head. Caramel sweetness, noticeable hop bitterness, just a little funky sourness in there too. Bubbly carbonation, light to medium body, bitter finish. Pretty tasty beer, seems quite different from the other Saisons I’ve tried.
