50cl can at Kuremäe kohvik. Pours slightly hazy brown with a reddish hue and an off-white head. Malty and bready aroma with caramel, dark fruits and caramel. Sweet, malty and fruity with hints of caramel and honey. A light sourness is also present. Surprisingly drinkable and quite nice.

Dark reddish brown a bit hazy color, minimal head. Sweet aroma of caramel, sour apples, some yeast and metallic notes. Taste is sweet with mild dry finish, has caramel, malt, bread, yeast, raisin and some other dark fruits. Light body and fizzy carbonation. Quite nice drink, enjoyable and refreshing. This year it is a bit different than it used to be in previous summers, and I like it more.

1L plastic bottle. Dark brown color. Very minimal head. Aroma is caramel, light plums. Taste is sweet caramel, fruits. As thirstyrabbit says, needs more bread flavor to make it real thing.

1L plastic bottle. Dark brown, minimal head. Aroma has some light roast and acidity. Tase is sweet and sour. There is a very light roasty character that makes it drinkable. It just needs to have more bready taste to be a good kali (kvass).

6 I wonder if the apple pie aroma when I first opened the bottle and poured was anything to do with the fact Anna was walking past with a couple of fresh õunapiiraga. However, it’s certainly sweet and fruity - definitely raisiny and with a lot of treacly caramel.
3 Very deep red, spoilt only by the fact that it’s fizzy. Until it runs out of carbonation, then it becomes flat. Neither’s optimal. 5 Very simple sweet malt extract taste. If they actually fermented this properly, and added some hops, I bet it could make a pretty good dark mild. If they didn’t filter it and carbonate it.
2 Watery and fizzy. Pleasant sweet raisin-caramel finish, but not really in a beery way.
9 Well, I like kali, and this is quite a good thirst-quencher, as long as you’re prepared for the sugar to make you thirstier later.
