Karl Friedrich, or just Karl to his friends, is a simple pale lager with historical taste, boasting the delicious flavour of hops and the brew master’s pure spirit. It was brewed in honour of Karl Friedrich Rehbinder, the founder of Estonian beer culture and of Saku Brewery. Karl is a real beer, exactly as genuine Estonian beer used to be for centuries before modern times. There is no innovative crystal filtration or luxurious aroma bouquet, no posh hop cultivars or trendy freshness. This beer only includes barley malt, water, hops, yeast and the experience gathered by Saku brew masters over centuries. Traditional raw materials and brewing technologies create a beer that combines the bitterness of hops and the sweet hint of barley malt. A genuine and pure taste to be enjoyed by those who appreciate the charm of simplicity.

0.5 l bottle from Kaubamaja, Talliin. Very minimal head, looks like a lager, colour is more orange than yellow. Well, it smelled and tasted a bit like pear cider. That’s odd, anyway, nothing special. There is some sweetness, but not too much.

0.5l tölkki, parasta ennen 06.12.2014. Olematon vaahto, hivenen sameahko kullankeltainen peruslager. Tuoksussa jo hiivaisaa simaa. Kuiva, iskevä, hedelmäinen, lievän metallinen suutuntuma. Ohimenevä semikuiva jälkimaku. Ihan perusbisse, mukiinmenevää.

On can, arranged by Visionthing- thanks! Golden color, good foam. Aromas of malt, grain- also notes of cardboard; low aroma intensity. Light bpdy & complexity. Ok bitterness. Ok, a small notch above standard macro

Złote piwo o puszystej pianie. W smaku pełne, chmielowe z fajną goryczką na finiszu. Taki lepszy koncernowy lager.
