wunderbier (1264), Tampere, Finland May 8, 2008 Blossoming pale foam; straw gold hue. Soft continental hops over timid pale malts and a surprising note of tropical fruits. Fairly attenuated; brisk malts give to vegetal hops and a drying finish. Slick texture and quickly diminishing carbonation.
Unclean at times, feels half completed at others.
50 cl can, best before 18.08.2008.
Rune (2737), Tromsø, Norway Apr 6, 2009 500ml can. Slightly cloudy, golden body that holds a tiny white head. Modest smell of sweet fruits. Some notes of citric fruits and earthy malts in the taste. Comes off as a rather bland Nordic lager (shared with Finn H. at a party in Tromsø, 04.04.2009). SaintMatty (1195), Tallinn, Estonia Oct 20, 2008 500ml Can - Pale golden in colour with a large white head. Malty and grassy aroma with a hint of lemon and a slight sweetness. Clean tasting with more malt and some grassy hops featuring with a lemon hint and a malty and mildly sweet finish. FatPhil (3440), Espoo, Finland Sep 22, 2008 500ml can (K Market)
Very pale, scummy head. Sweet fruity aroma. Pale lager fingerprint, but this has at least a noticeable sweet malty body a curious almondy and cherry twist to the taste. Some metallic grassy hops too. It’s those damn pellets - they’re as far away from ’velvety’ as you can get. Pushed in 2 directions here - it’s much bigger than the weak piss, but has several drawbacks too. MitchWayne (264), Kokkola, Finland Aug 22, 2008 I like this in some ways more than the normal kuld one, seems to be less harsh and that works with the honeyish sweetness. Quite boring but drinkable. bermod (118), Lappeenranta, Finland Jun 16, 2008 Sweetish malty and a bit grassy aroma. Sweets malts, a bit grass and lemon in flavor. Thin mouthfeel. Finn (1422), Tromsø, Norway Feb 24, 2008 Can 0,5l. Pale golden colored. A shortlived small creamy head. Strange aroma and flavor of medicine. Some modest malty taste in the finish. Bad aftertaste. Something tells me this beer is off - but drunk two months before expiry date. Sigmund (2197), Hafrsfjord, Norway Jan 18, 2008 500 ml can, thanks to KnutAlbert. ABV is 4.5%. Normally the "export" version of a beer is stronger than the "ordinary" version, but in this case it is weaker! Crystal clear very pale golden colour, big white head. Moderate fruity aroma, citrus and candy. Light bodied, thin mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet and sugary, with minimal hops. Not much to write home about here - nor to export.
