COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saku Kuld – a modern classic, the absolute elite of Estonian beers, a combination of Saku’s hundreds-of-years-old brewing traditions, and the newest technology. With a rich taste, foam, and aroma, a delicate balance of freshness and mildness characterizes the taste of Saku Kuld. The freshness comes from Nordic oat malt and velvety smoothness is added to the refined bouquet by Hallertau hops. In addition, Saku Kuld is characterized by a clear colour and thick firm foam. Saku Kuld is sold in unique bottles with a relief of the Saku arms.

19.11.2010, 0,5l Bottle. Pale yellow colour with thick white head. Weak malty aroma with fizzy carbonation. Very low on malteyness. Some bitterness, mostly aroma hops with low bitterness. There is more taste and flavour in the carbonation then in the hopping.

suurjuust (603) - ESTONIA - NOV 15, 2010
Very pale yellow, medium head, some lacing. Grassy, hoppy nose with hints of spice. Thin, watery body, some malts, some hops... The usual. This could be above your average run-of-the-mill lager, if they added more body. But right now it’s just ...inoffensive.

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 27, 2010
from old notes Sticky cream head and deep, clear yellow hue. Slick maize and cereal malts surround fragile herbal hops. Cereal sweets parried by light salts then into a damp menthol and rosemary finish. Building stickiness despite the bustling carbonation and restrained body.

Sullied by DMS-conjured maize and an unattractive salinity.

50 cl bottle, best before 03 September 2008.

500 ml bottle. The bottle is beautiful but it doesn’t make the beer taste better. It’s corny sweet, fruity, buttery and metallic with lots of carbonbation, not very hoppy. I wonder if it is better on tap.

Kavu (1565) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 4, 2010
Pours yellow with a medium head. Aroma is fruits and hops along with the usual lager stuff. Flavor is mildly fruity with some malts and light hops in the finish. Pretty nice for a mundane lager.

FatPhil (7496) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 20, 2010
500ml bottle (Tallinn)
Pale, brief head. Typically bland aroma, some vague sweet lageriness somewhere in there, with that typical vague citrussiness. Thin palate, watery. Sweet citrussy retronasals. Taste pretty bland, vague vague pale malts, and again some light citrussy hops. At least the hops stay a little in the finish, and fortunately they’ve filtered all the nastiness out. Clean and boring.

Keg (Karja Kelder, Tallinn) Pale lager looks. Slightly sweet sour aroma. Slightly creamy malty taste. Fairly non-descript lager. Clean and tasteless. Nothing wrong, nothing good.
