The most delightful way to enjoy Saku Porter would be in front of a fireplace or in candle light during those long and dark winter nights. This beer keeps you warm all through the coldest time of the year. Saku Porter is the ideal accompaniment to roasted meats and game. The fact that porter is also perfectly suited to light various desserts, especially those containing chocolate, may not be that commonly known. The ideal serving temperature for Saku Porter is rather high, 12–14 °C, a typical quality for dark beers. Saku Porter, a unique dark beer with strong taste, is brewed of water, caramel, light and coffee malts, hop and yeast, however, only once a year – for Christmas. Similarly to classical porters, Saku Porter is a strong (alc. 7.5 % of volume) full-bodied beer. A special jewel to Saku Porter is its high, rich, brownish foam.

Note: Originally brewed in Saku at 7.5%, moved to Aldaris and reduced to 7% in winter 2009/2010.

Bottle 0,50L. Dark brown mahagony colour with small, light brown creamy head that sits down quickly, but doesn’t dissapear. Light malty aroma of caramel, chocolate and roasted malt. Light sweet, cacao taste with moderate bitter aftertaste with mild mouthfeel. Medium to full body, oily texture and light carbonation. Nicely balanced and lighter than Saku Puhade Porter. Very mild and drinkable.

Bottle pours brown-black with medium tan head. Aroma dark malts, a bit sour. Taste dark malts, a little roast and caramel, Didn’t get much coffee or chocolate. Finish fairly clean with a bit of roast. Palate medium-thick, not quite syrupy Alcohol slightly apparent. Not bad, but there’s better Baltic porters out there.

Baltic porter pienamente in stile, bevuta in bottiglia comprata al supermercato e pagata 11 corone (66 eurocent circa). Rispetto alla qualitŕ da supermercato che si trova in Italia, ce n’č d’avanzo

A deep amber/brown. Light for a porter. Thin creamy head, decent lace. Nose of caramel, plums, grains, alcohol, slight oxidation and more. Thinnish feel hold some decent flavors, dark, sweet, caramelized malts. Touch of anise and a nice alcoholic warmth orburn depending how you look at it. Starts a bit harsh but once your palate settles, this baby becomes your best friend. Maybe a bit of oxidation but an enjoyable brew.

0.5L bottle. Soiled clothes first and then little coffe grounds aroma. Cool used motor oil color with brown hat. Very cool look. Taste is also fat oili. Correct porter feeling and taste. Remind little summer clove and herbs. Little vanilla and little coffee caramel. Everything is on balance. Finish is bit alcohol, but not disturb very much. Best baltic porter so far.

Fairly light colored for a porter. Bubbles sticking to the side of the glass, but they may have more to do with how the glassware is washed than the beer. They diminished after a couple minutes. Rocky, tan head. Fairly, metallic malt aroma. A little spicy. The aroma gets me thinking about all the winter releases I can't wait to drink. A porter with neither chocolate, nor coffee. To be honest, I miss those flavors a little.
