Bottle (12 oz?)
I knew this would be bad heading in but I was not prepared for the awfulness of this pale lager. I wish other options were available more readily from eastern European countries. In this case buyer beware unless you must really absolutely knock a new country off of your "to try" list.
Aroma / Appearance - The glassy golden body was pretty flat and lifeless. Smelling like soured apple juice there was some hoppiness but it was a total mess.
Flavor / Palate - Grainy and sour the mouthfeel is almost bad enough to make me give up immediately. Pressing on the aftertaste was a little more palatable but only because the original awfulness had faded. The only positive thing about this is that it was cheap. Otherwise buyer beware - take a few sips and pour the rest quickly down the sink.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
I found thiis brew surprisingly palatable. This was the bottled version. Copper colored with a rocky head and well-carbonated body. Aroma pours out light grains and an emphatic sourdough with a desirable bready, yeasty character. Smooth bready flavor with some "beeriness" that would make an excellent base for a could beery beef stew or beery cheese soup. A solid Eastern European lager, easy on the palate, and with satisfying qualities.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Thin white head. Yellow body with vigourous carbonation. Light mealy apple and malts aroma. Dryish watery apple malts taste with earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Smoothish mouthfeel. Dry papery apple aftertaste, kind of neutral. So neutral they can’t hide the off tastes any more. (0.5l bottle, Hell Hunt, Tallinn.)

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
500ml can (Rimi, Tallinn)
Typical pissy macro lager aroma - sweet malts, some rank esters. Quite unlike the regular Rock, this has loads of metallic hops, which are quite astringent. Not really drinkable unless desperate.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2010 500 ml can. From Estonia.
Clear golden colour with almost no head. Almost like apple juice. Not much of an aroma. Only thing comes to my mind is childhood Play-Doh. Not so good. Flavour is quite harsh and a bit malty. Brand could be quite ok but the beer is nothing above average. Well, easy to drink it is.
500 ml can. As Saku Rock Limited Edition. From Tallinn, Estonia.
Clear golden colour with big foamy white head. Malty and smoky aroma. Smoked ham flavour with some maltiness. Basic lager with some Rauchbier twist.
