The Taste of Manchester or Saku Manchester for short is a classic slightly sweet light red beer brewed following the finest traditions of English brewmasters. In England this beer is called ale and every respectable traditional English pub has this type of mild red beer at the top of their beer menu. Saku Manchester gets its English accent from light and caramel malt and aromatic hops that together make the beer sweeter and give it its red colour. Characteristic to English ale, Saku Manchester has a low carbon dioxide level.

Some many years ago I said that this beer has nothing to do with Manchester on Vienna whatsoever. Loads of my friends like it. I will stick to Tõmmu Hiid in this case. This brew is to weak for its class. I had it every years, and every year I was disappointed.

(Bottle, 0.5 l , 20131125) The beer poured amber and cler. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, metallicness and berries. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, caramel, malts, metallicness, berries and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, acrid and bitter. A weird unpleasant brew with strange berriness.

500ml bottle shared by djoeye. Pours a huge, bubbly, white head that laces well. Golden-brown coloured body. Mid-sweet malty smell, in the direction of caramel. Flavours of mild leafy hops together with sweet malts. Short, mostly, sweet ending. Medium minus bodied. Quite possible to drink, not exactly the taste of Manchester though. (Tromsø 10.11.2013).

Bottle from Rimi in Pärnu Estonia. White standing head. Deep orange clear body. Scents of fruits, on a meadow. Tastes malts n grains, mild, yellow apple. The hops passes by for a second only. Ends semi-dry, grains and bread. Could’ve been better with a bit higher carbonation. RateMeetWRune/FuneralFeast4TromsoI

Clear light amber body with small head that laces nicely. Nose has caramel, orange, and herbs. Taste is quite sweet at first but is then superceded by a long dryness. Carbonation is average and palate somewhat thin. Its not bad but a little too sweet.

Bottle. Red copper clear. Weak herbal green hops, perfumy florals, bit of stale toffee-raisinous caramel. Light body, a bit bland. Some greenery, dry, candy-like caramel. Feels bulk, and after a while like they’ve just added some sort of flavour extract to a lager, but at least an attempt at adding flavours.

Clear Copper body, white head. Aroma has sweet fruit, odd malty notes and some alcohol. This pseudo British ale is really just poor lager.

Manchester...? Are you kidding? Bottle, name and label were much more promising. I found some lager instead english ale. I even have doubt is it Vienna lager, if by color yes, but by taste I just don’t know

500ml Bottle - Copper coloured. Malty and fruity aroma. Malty, fruity and sweet taste. Not like an ale at all. Tastes more like a lager with caramel added.
