20oz pour at "Grandmother’s Kitchen" in Tallin. Pours a clear, pumpernickel brown with some thin, eggshell head. Nose is standard for a dark lager, bread, yeast, malt, light honey. Flavor is similar, honey, dark bread, chestnut honey. Medium bodied, lightly sweet finish. Fairly standard.

I wanted to like this beer--credits for an Estonian macro doing something different--but I can’t; it’s too fizzy, too chalky, too licorice-y to be good, although it bears its 6.7% abv well and isn’t as dry as one could expect. Time to move on down the Saku range :) (in Prisma supermarket, Lilleküla, Tallinn)

Bottle thanks to FatPhil. Cheers my friend. Very dark ruby colour with thick beige head. Some sweetish malts in the flavour. Drunk it with some rotisserie chicken. Yes, some decent malts, touch of milky choc. It’s fine. Nice enough drinkable strongish beer.

Bottle 500ml. Pours hazy brown with reddish reflects. Medium biege head, some lacing. Aroma is of molases, bread, toffee, malt. Taste is of molasses, bread, toffee, malt, sweetness. Overall: I would be nice unusual molasses aroma/taste, but it really pushes the envelop. Bad balance. Not easily drihnkable at all.

Bottle (500 ml). Hazy brown with reddish reflects and a medium diminishing beige head. Overwhelming aroma of molasses, toffee, bread and malt. Taste is so sugary... molasses, toffee, malt. Thin to medium body. Watery mouthfeel. Way too heavy on molasses/toffee. Not drinkable at all, not complex and not balanced. I wasn’t able to finish my glass.

500 ml bottle. Pours slightly hazy dark reddish amber colour with a large creamy tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, hay, mild burnt and roasted notes, mild licorice and mild coffee. Flavour of licorice, caramel and roasty malt. Alcohol is coming through a little bit. Medium to full bodied, oily mouthfeel, high carbonation and slightly burning and bitter licorice finish.

Aroma has herbs and caramel; hoppiness in the background. Dark red, almost black. Big frothy head is beige and medium long. Syryp, dark bread, herbs flavors which get better as this gets warmer. Herbs in finish also. Light to medium body with thin feel, low carbonation. I have a problem this.kinda beers. To me they always seem diluted. Maybe I should icebock this? Just kidding. Not my thing anyway.

Dark red and brown colour. Light aroma. Medium light brown head which does not last. Sweet and malty. Not very much hops. A decent dark lager.
