Tap @ The Market Porter. Pours black with a small tanned creamy head leaving lace. Aroma is roasted, malty, earthy and ashy. Flavor is watery, ashy, acidy, roasted and bitter. Finishes acidy bitter.

From cask at Market Porter. Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is dark roasted malty and slight breadish. Bitter and dark roasted. Flat malty, caramelish and dry breadish. Bitter and dry finish. Ends bitter and roasted malty.

Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel, dried fruits and butterscotsch.
Sweet and light roasted flavour of caramel, liquorice, dried fruits and butterscotsch.

Cask at Market Porter, London. Not sure this is the right beer. My notes say Dennis Sinned Stout. Black beer, creamy beige head. Milky, malty chocolate aroma, cocoa notes. Soot flavor, cocoa, tar, licorice, chocolate notes.

Cask. The Pub, Leicester. Medium off white head, black body. Roastiness, fruitiness, smoke. Bittersweet. A little too harsh. Dry finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2010. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and licorice flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2010) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, cocoa and dark chocolate. Rather light body, dry, with a generous coffee bitterness. Possibly a bit thin, but nice and well made stout.

Cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 10th Feb 2010. Near black. Little bit of tan head. Musty, stale coffee nose with a bit of hops. Dry at the start and maybe actually lacking a malty punch. I liked it though and would definitely drink it again.
