Mexican inspired lagers brewed in Germany! Why is that? Who is the main audience? And why do people break the proud German brewing traditions in favor of Mexican beer? The answers I get probably never. Salitos have faint hint of hops in the aroma. The taste is slightly malty and has a watery aftertaste that is conspicuous by almost total absence of hop bitterness. Now I think that the audience is in place! It is simply brewed for people who do not like beer, and especially can not stand hops. But why they have chosen to give it a Mexican touch? I simply do not understand, because if you are craving for Mexican beers then buy instead the real thing. They can be purchased almost everywhere. Buy however Sol instead, it is in fact just as boring as Salitos, but genuine Mexican.

Pours a clear sunny yellow color, topped with a medium sized but quickly settling white frothy head. Grainy aroma, skunky and metallic. Taste is similar. Some sweetness in teh start, metallic body with therefore a bit unpleasant bittery finish. Poor beer.

Grei øl, med grei smak, lukt og farge. En middelhavsfarer uten nevneverdige skyts dessverre.

0.33 l botle from local supermarket. Golden colour hazy from the cold with lot of bubbles. Surprisingly this has some taste of malts, mostlly water though. Aftertaste has some dryness, hops or something else? Ingredients include also hop extract, extra carbon dioxide, antioxidant and ascorbic acid. Absolutely industrial product whitch manages to refresh you during hot weather. But you can do that using the real ingredients too. Admittely, not as cheaply and not so pleasing for stockholders.

The most disappointing about this is: Produced in Germany. Why? We already have Sol and Corona. Mild pale stuff, made for people who do not like beer.

A German brewed Latin lager, now the end of the world is well and truly upon us!!! From the clear bottle with the crown opener on the base (Just a pity I didn’t have a second bottle of this fine specimen hey!!?). Headless, über thin looking with soda-pop effervescence. Medium gold in colour. Aroma of salty crackers, brine, corn husks and soft mint. Carbonic acid bites the front of the tongue but it is watery in feel and texture past that. Soda water has more character. My palate is a little tired this tie of the year but this had me struggling to grasp a single flavour profile. The salt and corn of the nose all but lost. This wasn’t a beer at all. What is this blaspheme!? Das ist Scheiße! (33cL, BB 11/05/15, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

330 cl. completely clear bottle @ home. Procured from ALBO. Drank straight from the bottle because who are we kidding? Looks urine / corn golden, light foam on top once you start drinking, suspicious looking overall. Taste is nasty chemical oily corn syrup, mineral, watery, hop extract bitter, vegetable oil,… Oily, lower carbonation body. This beer is clearly all about lifestyle/marketing/brand/etc. with no attention to flavour etc. This is bit of a European Corona, I do feel like a privileged douche bag drinking this & do get a crazy urge to put on a Tommy Hilfiger Polo so mission accomplished I assume? It must be said that the Mojito & Tequila version were definitely more enjoyable than this even if they still weren’t all that good.
