PpR (3), Germany does not count Jul 22, 2003 I had one in my last winter vacation. Somewhat sweet taste. Not too strong of a flavour - I liked it for having dinner. Not a bad beer for the usual clubbing. GarrettB (396), Centennial, Colorado, USA Nov 13, 2005 Updated: Sep 15, 2007ATVing around the Aruban desert and then to its downtown is one of the damn finest things I had hoped to aspire to in life. Then, to make things even better, I picked up a Salitos, given to me by a shady bus driver parked at a nude beach. What more debauchery could I have found, all in one place? I gladly took the beer in my hand, and numbed by the ATV motor, chugged the whole thing. Laughing defiantly at the “Don’t drink and ATV” sticker next to the steering I kicked the break out and sped out onto the sand. But the preceding and proceeding events have no bearing on this beer. The tequila drenched lager was amazingly refreshing. So good that I became frustrated with my own mortal dimensions that withheld me from truly appreciating how good that felt after 3 hours of skidding across the terrain in the skin melting sun. The added tequila flavor completely overrides any beer that might have been in the bottle, and just in case there are a few last vestiges of brew that might have slipped in, the brewery gushed a good three of four limes inside to kill off any lingering beer with a tidal wave of citrus. It was like a bubbly, and very nicely textured cheap margarita. It made my day of havoc on my engine power steed all the better, that’s for sure. And for all those concerned, I was with an experienced, dedicated (and rascally) guide that saw to it we were within the boundaries of (loosely defined) laws.
(I knocked the score down because this is hardly a beer. Otherwise I’d put it closer to 3.0).
Nekronos (1851), Xalapa, Mexico Dec 17, 2005 Updated: Apr 30, 2006NOt matter how much they try to stereotype MExico, it is just not Mexican, I have even found this beer in some lists as MExican. The tequila conbination is what we call Submarines, but is not really to drink TEquila with beer. yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 12, 2008 33 cL clear bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a lacing white head. Citrus fruity aroma with a mild tequila bite. Flavour is citrusy with a mild tequila note. Ends with a light sharpness from the tequila.
