medium body, dun, hoog co2,
fris mediteraans achtig, ik vraag mij af of de zuurgraad bij dit bier hoort !

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 Benzai (4329) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - DEC 19, 2012
33cl bottle @ home. Dark amber brown color with a huge rocky white head that lasts for a fairly long time. Smell malts and some sweetness. Taste malts, some sweetness and a light sourness. Fizzy carbonation, low to medium body.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 erickok (2280) - Tours, FRANCE - NOV 6, 2012
Loads of beige foam over a light hazy brown body. Aroma has delicate roast, barnyard, rustic malts, cheese. Brett? Very nice. Foaming and pleasant mouth filling feel. Smooth roasted sweet taste, light funky and fermented fruit ending. Well this was unexpected... maybe for the brewers as well? (33cl bottle from De Bierwinkel Leiden)
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bierkoning (8944) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - OCT 29, 2012
Bottle. Brown color. Pours a huge head. Should have been a moderately sweet dubbel but it isn’t. Malty peppery aroma and flavor. Initial malt. Tart and dry in the mouth. Brett (or wild yeasts) all over the place. Tastes like Orval with caramel. Intended? Probably not. Just an infection with wild yeasts and a favorable result.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 MrHangover (1095) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - OCT 7, 2012
Bottle. Pours an overcarbonated, dark brown colored beer with a huge beige head. Fruity and sour aroma of cherries, strawberries and peaches. Little malts detected, not really the typical dubbel smell. Flavor is a bit sour, maybe infected. Not the really sweet, malty flavors that I like so much in most dubbels. Still not too bad, but this brew did not impress that much.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 deanso (3184) - the Hague, NETHERLANDS - SEP 22, 2012
33cl bottle from ABCBeers.
Too much white head. Slightly hazy amber pour. A bit sour. Not a great double
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 TrefwoordPunk (707) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - SEP 12, 2012
Bottle 30 cl. Pours brown with a medium off-white head and an aroma of fresh hops, citrus, unripe cherries and light malts. The taste starts out sour, just like the aroma but gets a bit more sweet later on. Hints of unripe fruits, caramel, malts and vinegar, some alcohol too. Really weird for a dubbel, I don’t like this.
