COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thirteen centuries ago, the Angel-Saxon missionary Liafwin came to East Holland to convert the people into Christianity. Liafwin was declared holy and got a new name: Lebuïnus; Latin for "Good Friend". We couldn’t come up with a better name for this rough beer, brewed gentle and traditionally in Salland, a region still home to Lebuïnus. This is our Tripel

33cl bottle @ home shared with Thompson. Slightly unclear golden color, medium sized off-white head that leaves fair lacing. Smell malts and grains, is this a tripel? Taste malts, grains, some sweetness and animal food. Yuk. Bad bad bad all the way.

Hazy golden bodied with bright white and frothy yet stable head. Quite yeasty, typical Belgian tripel aroma with oranges although slightly rougher, dough, fermented fruits leaning towards sourness. Not very clean. Fairly tasty but straightforward taste. If anything the somewhat amateurish roughness gives it at least some character. Quite sweet though.Tropical fruit and light sourness towards the end. Not entirely how it’s supposed to be? As it is it’s okay. (33cl bottle from De Bierwinkel Leiden)

Bottle. Blonde. Vinegar and citrus in the aroma. No carbon whatsoever. Malt vinegar notes and citrus in the sourish flavor. Oxidated. First signs of infection. Perfume. This bottle shouldn’t have been sold.

Bottle, from ABC Beers. Pours a clear, dark golden colour with a medium sized, off white head. Aroma of fruity, yeasty esters, some banana and tropical fruits. Also, slight hints of caramel. Taste has a spicy, alcoholic sweetness and a medium dry finish. Medium carbo, decent beer.
