From tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy yellow with a small, lacing and white head. Aroma is fruity and mild peachy hoppy. Fruity and mild peachy to citrusy hops flavoured. Vague grassy note. Ends dry and slight bitter. Lasting hoppy herbal/grassy and bitter finish.

On tap @ the brewpub, Vienna. Pours pale golden with a nice creamy white head. Aroma of grassy hop, some menthol as well. Taste is hop dominated with a nutty malt base. Fresh and crisp beer, long bitter aftertaste. Good stuff.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear pale yellow with low creamy foam. Grassy hoppy nose, alongside a bready, pale maltiness. Clean pale malty with grassy hops. Slight papery bitter, and that lasts long. Medium bodied, bit edgy. When fresh, it’s good.

Hazy pale yellow with a fine lacing white head. Floral hop pils aroma with a mild malty character. Medium bodied pilsner, sourish yeast with a nice hoppy character that remains in the aftertaste. Nice pilsner.

Clear, yellow color with a lacing white head. Hay, strong hops with a light sweet taste. Not a complex beer, with a hoppy, bitter aftertaste. Decent pils.

Muddy blond color; creamy head. Nice cereals and malt aroma. Cereals and malt flavor, with some residual sweetness, hay; the bitterness is not strong. Maybe rough but pleasant.

Draught @ Salm. Cloudy golden with good white head. Not a lot of aroma, somewhat hoppy. Palate is medium bodied but dominated by an unusually creamy carbonation. Light malty bready start gives way to good long lasting bitter finish. A nice Pils.

Preferred this one to their helles. Color was a slightly cloudy gold with a foamy head. Aroma was wheaty, yeasty and earthy. Flavor was bready, yeasty and earthy as well, with some herbal elements. A well done version of the style for me.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2009 My Bottom Line:
The piquant hoppiness of this most healthy unfiltered Pilsener drives its spicines into the chewy straw of the base malts to create a pillowy and flavorful quencher not unlike its Franconian cousins.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A dollop of foam bobs atop the cloudy blond.
-The nose is draped in herbal hoppiness, yet it is quieter than the flavor profile.
-Their Helles has better malt character (to my tastebuds), but their bodies are very similar.
-The spicy hop bitterness pleasantly lingers.

On tap at the brewpub.
