Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is sticky toffee caramel malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a hop malt liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. One of the better beers from Salopian.

Bottle shared thanks to jmgreenuk. Pours hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma of toffee and biscuity malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. But where are the hops? A little orange in the palate but nothing else.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle): Hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, lemon zest, sweet malt, caramel and a slight wheaty character. Flavour is bags of fruity hops and a sharp lemon zest note. Underlying is a caramel/malty base to balance the beer. Slight, though very slight, hint of alcohol on the finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from ’Jacks’, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed at Shrewsbury Folk Festival Sunday 25th August 2013 Pours hazy amber with a white head. Soft carbonation. Good clean hoppy nose. In the mouth there is a little watery marmalade amongst the citrussy soup. Some sweetness and a good maltiness throughout but the sweetness is tempered by the citrussy bite. Good but not as good as I was expecting, Salopian excel in the hoppy golden bitter 3.8-5% territory. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Golden and lively upon pouring. Large head took a long time to dissipate. Hoppy and pleasant. Definitely my kind of beer. Came in an engraved bottle. All round this is pretty classy and probably deserving of a higher score.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml from Beer Gonzo. Diaphanous brass-gold capped massively with white. Aroma of pickled coercion(gherkin), tinned peach, paprika, tomato vine, honey, liquorice and..well, US IPA as suggested by the Stone-esque presentation. Warm peppery booze giving way to a more approachable honeyed peach, pot pourri, Jelly Tot, lime-squirted Feta hop thing. Husk and dried chilli/red pepper hints. A ringer for any number of sweet peachy US (D)IPAs: Lagunitas Lucky 13 with the heat turned down. Too much peach and throatsweet honey. Deeply impressive if not entirely to my taste.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle. Pours a clear orange-golden amber colour, foam white head leaving alittle lacing and aroma of mango, orange & grapefruit, pine. Taste is sweetish malt caramel with juicy grapefruit citrus, pine resin and lingering minerally bitterness. Foamy slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, well carbonated, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable IPA.
