Cask; Special - July 2013. Also available bottle conditioned.

Hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka and Galaxy. Brewed using malted barley and wheat. A surge of pine engulfs the palate while hints of orange and watermelon cascade across a dry and tempered bitter landscape. The finish is long and defined with a whisper of sweetness.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is big grass and nettles leading to a medium to strong bitter flavour, with a nice zesty red berry citrus palate, with some liqourice and malty notes. A super beer!

Hand-pulled at the 22nd Festival At The Edge on weekend of 20-21 July 2013; I had plenty because I was working the bar! Very hoppy brew, even for a Salopian Brewery’s beer (and no hints of lemon/sour citrus notes). Golden, clean and bright: on top a fairly thin, but full white covering. Bitter, pine hop nose and taste: the Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka and Galaxy hops blending well together to produce a crisp, tangy hop flavoured beer. I really took to it, as did many of the festival goers. Good body depth, with the hops hiding the 6.9% ABV very well indeed. My usual sweet toothed preference for maltier brews was impressed with this drier, hoppier beer.

Cask conditioned at The Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury. Gold with white head. Nicely bitter IPA, lots of fruity notes, dry, grapefruit, pineapple. There is an alcohol dryness that does dominate after a while. Pretty good.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2013 Bottle fresh from the Salopian brewery. A creamy bottle rim on opening, the extreme hoppy mix of grapefruit pine & mango really tickles the nose as you take the first tentative sip. Its essentially a bitter brew, sharp on the senses with sweeter mandarin elements coming through the further in you go. Another impressive addition to the Salopian roster although Automation is winning at this point.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; light amber pour with loose white head, piney hop aroma, big fruity taste tangerine, citrusy a touch of pineapple a bit earthy, decent bitterness, backed up beautifully by bready malts, been impressed with the recent Salopian trilogy this Vertigo and Automoton.
