Commercial Description:
Oat Beer with Raspberries.
Cask and bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Malted oats, malted Maris Otter barley, Goldings hops, raspberries and yeast.
"Dragonfly celebrates the arrival of the raspberry season and the oat crop but can of course be drunk at any time of the year! It is a straw coloured beer with great body and bags of flavour. Reminiscent of earthy fields and breakfast oats, it has a malty aroma topped off with a good crisp head. The malt taste on the palate is enlivened by the addition of real raspberries."

500ml bottle from Shropshire. Vintage 1997. Bottle conditioned. Well attenuated with a decent head and moderate condition. Slight raspberry flavour. Ever so slightly, pleasantly, sharp. A clean, refreshing beer. This could just as well be 11 months old as 11 years.

[bottle-conditioned] Poured with a largish, rocky white head - sadly rather short-lived. Amber with a pinkish tinge, and good, sparkling condition. Oats and some malt on the nose, with good raspberry character, and a faint lambic-like tang, rather like Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus. Tastes strongly of raspberry, with accompanying acidic, slightly sweet twang. Oatiness also evident, as you would expect. Rather light in body, and with a slightly chalky mouthfeel on the rather acidic finish. Not bad, but I'd rather have the Cantillon :)
