COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mainly available bottlede. Has been seen on tap.
Historically the term used to describe a porter blended from a variety of ales, entire butt uses 14 different malts and 3 hops to recreate this forgotten style of porter. The beer is black/brown with a crisp white head and is distinctly vinuous. It has little hop character as essentially the flavour is derived from the malts. Malts used: pale Maris Otter, lager, wheat, pale crystal, dark crystal, dark chocolate, pale chocolate, black, roasted barley, caramalt, torrified wheat, amber malt, brown malt and malted oats.

Almost no aroma, just a tad burnt. Body is watery. Taste has roasted malts and some acidulousness. Very plain and dull

Opaque mahogany, lasting dense tan head, creamy full body, perfect medium-high carbonation.

Aroma: lots of dark chocolaty malt, metallic minerality, leafy hops, and bready yeast, with hints of silage and alcohol and nutty oats.

Taste: dark chocolate, dark roasted malt, bready yeast, leafy hops, and hints of licorice and cola.

Great balance. No charr or astringency.

Deep dark burgundy red color; light-medium khaki head. Assertive aroma, chocolate malt, chocolate mousse. Dry body on the whole, and yet the chocolate character comes across very clearly. Light wood. Very tasty and very drinkable. Really excellent porter; tastes amazing while it’s a Light beer, in stark contrast to how the Americans make porters.

Draft at Pizzeria Paradiso - Georgetown, Washington D.C. Poured a dark brown (almost black) color, with a off-white head. Aroma was roasty, chocolate hints, a touch of dried fruits. Flavor was similar as taste, complex roasted character, though very light in body.
