3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask (Live & Let Live, Cambridge)
Hop forward. Citrussy, in particular lemony. Pretty pale. Gently sweet malty backbone supporting that. Finish is mostly hops - both a touch of bitter bite, and a pile of citrussy aromatics. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a hint of Cascade in this, given the combination. A good golden ale in the original classic style (Brewers Gold, Summer Lightning, not more modern wimpier ones).

Cask@st Matthews hall, walsall. Golden beer with medium head and excellent lacing throughout. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Taste is grapefruit, some sweetness, or malts and some grain in there. Quite dry. A very good beer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear golden beer with minimal head. Smell is impressive - mango, apple, grapefruit. Nice stuff. Body is light. Taste is understated grapefruit, watered down apple juice, sofe bitterness. So drinkable, but not a very exciting flavour. Great smell though!

Very clear med golden color. Fantastic citrusy hoppy nose - Grapefruits and apples shine brightly. Decent medium body with grapefruit and cereal note. Hoppy. Great depth. Hops really shine. This is highly quaffable, light English ale. Perfect English summer beer. Outstanding.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My Bottom Line:
This crisp and aromatic Golden Ale refreshes with spicy and citrusy hops laid upon well polished straw-like pale malts.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the clear golden.
-Carbonation is not trying to emulate a cask. In this case, it’s perfectly fine since the bubbly feel enhances the crispness. This drinks like an Anglo interpretation of a German Pils.
-This is gorgeous for our summer heat and humidity.
-Love the nose on this one. Delicate but there’s lots going on.
-Ultimately, this is not the most memorable Golden Ale on the world scale. However, it’s so intricate, polished and quenching that I cannot deem it less than world-class.

500 ml bottle, with clear golden pour, biscuit & caramel malt backbone, with juicy pithy citrus hop character. Really well balanced. Not a hop bomb, but a really well made ale.
