The colour of an eclipse, the aroma is of char, chocolate & roasted malts and then the flavour of pine & citrus ascends over the palate, bringing the full bodied finish to a dizzying height.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Black with a thick off-white creamy head. Strong tasting dark ale with a full fruity sweetness in its taste. It has a fusion of fruits and malts in its aroma.

Cask at craft beer co clerkenwell. Dark black brown coloured pour with a lasting loose mid tan head. Aroma is dark choc, singed pone needles, some citrus hop, hints of charred wood. Flavour is composed of semi sweet malts, charred toasted bread, pine and citrus hop with some background hedgerow berries. Hint of liquorice in the finiah. Palate is medium sweet, medium full. Some hop resin. Ticks all the black IPA boxes. Pretty good.

Tap @ Craft Beer & Co Covent Garden, London - UK. Color: deep dark black beer with no carbonation and small brown head. Smell: grassy and hoppy nose balanced with roasted malt. Black bread. Taste: medium body with roasted malt balanced with grassy bitterness. Fresh and quiet easy drinkable for the ABV. Good attenuation. Aftertaste: wet bitterness and grassy.

Bottle [from Secret Euro Santa] @ home. Opaque black color, medium to full sized light brown head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, nice fruity hops. Taste malts, lightly dark malts, hardly get any roast, again nicely hoppy, lightly fruity, moderately bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice one.

Bottle. Smells of blueberry, blackcurrant and cream. Tastes of burnt coffee, biscuits and rye. Faithful to the style. Solid but lacking a whacking great happy finish for me.
