A Mes rate: cask at Baker St. ’Sporks.
Deep dark ruby / copper colour with a lasting beige head and a fair bit of lace. Big roasted malt on the nose with a pronounced smoky note and some strong dried fruit. The flavour is similar but the dried fruit falls more into the background and the smoked malty notes come right to the front. Lovely hints of biscuit and burnt toast too. Beautifully balanced finish with a good lick of fruity hops pitching it right down the middle. Nice dry mouthfeel. This is good stuff. I must also point out what great condition this is in. Things have improved dramatically here in recent weeks...

On tap at the Euston Tap. Clear dark red - amber beer. Thin white head. Light dry smooth palate, semi dry. Sweetish red berry fruits! Which is fine except there ain’t much else going on - could almost pass for a fruit beer. Odd! Semi dry finish. Drinkable.
