Pours dark ruby, with creamy head. Smells of chocolate syrup. Palate of medium roast, tasting a little of lactose in the sweet beginnings. Chased with a nice hop hit, leaving some coffee/dark chic bitterness. Easy drinking and tasty, but not a real roasty porter.

Bottle from Microbar, £2.39. Now this is going to make my end of year ratings very difficult, wonderful once again from Saltaire. A superb porter, hazelnut, coffee, caramel nose. Pours ruby brown with a fluffy beige head which quickly turns to a lace. Roasted malt, nuts, hazelnut and a hint of coffee taste. Smooth in the mouth, quite light with a low carbonation, bittersweet finish. This is a superb beer, very impressed.

In a bottle. Pours a ruby colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of hazelnut, caramel and coffee. Similar hazelnut and coffee flavours, tastes like syrup rather than grounds. Some roasty malt coming through in the finish. Moderate carbonation and a little CO2 prickle.

Ruby brown with metalllic fuggles, peppery goldings plenty of coffee and a hint of chocolate on the nose. Fluffy cream head soon fades to just a lacing. Roasty with lactose flavours, hazlenut and a hint of coffee with a bittersweet finish.

Bottle from Jacks, Westholme Store, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon 17.06.11 consumed at Haro campsite, La Rioja, Northern Spain sat outside Frank (Camper) 28.06.11 Pours reddy brown with a tan head. The aroma is camp coffee with some syrup. Its a little too sweet really with the addition of the syrup flavourings probably providing this sweetness. However its a fine beer and whilst not totally my thing the hazlenut shows well as does the coffee. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.3

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2013 Cask at the Sheffield Tap on 19 February 2011. Copper with thin film head giving lasting lacing. Sweet, slightly spicy aroma. Fruity in-mouth; nuttiness develops in the finish with hazel nut notes becoming rich and intense., alongside a rather nice bitter background,

Cask at London Drinker fest 2011. A light brown coloured pour with a medium off white head. Interesting nutty, roasty aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, nutty, similar to nutella spread? hints of coffee, slightly sweet. Really drinkable, good show!
