Cask at CPK, London. Meet the brewer event. It pours clear deep ruby/brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is sweet malts and hazelnut. Taste is sweet with dark malts, molasses, hazelnut and some crushed coffee beans. Thin in the mouth with soft carbonation. Overall, good but not outstanding.

500ml bottle - Ruby red colour with frothy, white head. Fairly pale for a porter. Malty, roasted nose with fresh coffee and nuts. Malty, slightly roasted taste with coffee and hazelnuts. Tasty, a bit like one of those infused coffees from Starbucks. Interesting.

Bottle bought at Huddersfield Beer Festival. Hazelnut coffee aroma come through strongly. Ruby brown colour with a head that stays. Unusual, but enjoyable.

Otterdance (164) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2013 Trafford Arms Beerfest. Brown in colour with a nice fine head. This tastes pretty much like it says with coffee, hazelnuts and chocolate flavours dominating, perhaps too much as it lacks the usual Porter characteristics and makes drinking a whole pint a bit of a chore. Low score on palate as it’s a bit thin and fizzy.

Cask @ St. Urho’s Pub, Helsinki

Pours copper orange with a bubbly head. Aroma of hazelnuts, hints of coffee and roastiness. Taste is watery, sweetish and malty with notes of nuts, hints of coffee and roastiness. Finish is smooth and sweet with notes of fruits, nuts and cold coffee. A bit unbalanced, not very porter-like.

(Cask at St. Urho’s Pub Portteripäivät ’13) The beer poured brown. Its head was small and white. Aroma had nuts, chocolate, roasted malts and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, nuts, malts, more sweetness and low bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. Unpleasant: too sweet and the nut flavour was too strong.

Vanilla, chocolate, toffee, coffee and slightly earthy, light notes of earth & leather hints of nuts on top of the gums. Orange-amber small white light head. Nice balance, creme brule, coffee and caramel pudding. Light bitter and medium sweet, full body, slick and light lively. Drink dessert! Congenial after a meal for 1 or 2 to drink. Enjoyable beer!

Bottle. Copper body with a small head. Aroma has powdery cocoa and dried peas. Taste has sweet caramel with a teaspoonful of cocoa powder. This sounds like a rejected idea for a soft drink. I don’t get this beer at all. Maybe it’s because the label promised a porter (in CAPS!) and it’s clearly not a porter.
