Svesse (1591), Hässelby, Sweden May 3, 2008 (Cask at Market Porter, Southwark, London, 26 April 2008) Hazelnut coffee porter? Sounds kind of weird. But it actually works quite well. Ruby red colour with frothy, beige head. Fairly pale for a porter. Malty, roasted nose with fresh coffee and nuts. Malty, slightly roasted taste with coffee and hazelnuts. Tasty, but with a godd balance between all the different flavours. Nice!

This isn’t subtle - it says hazelnut and coffee in the name and that’s what you get, in abundance, on the nose and in the flavour. Dark amber in colour and very drinkable, but not really up my street. Mes_and_Sim (4052), London, Greater London, England May 1, 2008 Updated: May 4, 2008A Mes rate: Gravicask at the Trafalgar. Dark amber? A very light colour for a porter. Excellent, well behaved bubbly white head and superb condition. Flavour is... wow. Really unusual stuff. Thick and rich chocolate, the coffee is clearly freshly ground and a gorgeous, lingering nutty peat finish. Delicate but glorious lick of hops too. Really interesting. Smooth and creamy and all round excellent.
