Bottle from Stewart Wine Co. 050115. Drinking this beer is like sucking on a bar of bitter dark chocolate. Deep black colour with a power packed chocolate aroma. Bit thin in the mouth with a slightly salty finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500m bottle: BBE of Jul 15, poured at home in Dec 14. Deep black with a full but fairly then tanned head. Aroma is milk chocolate and vanilla, no hops in the nose, at least for me anyway. Fairly sweet taste, with chocolate being the overriding flavour, coffee notes in the mouth too. Smooth, creamy texture, slips down very nicely, ends with a mild bitterness, but this is all about chocolate really, as the labelling intimates.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett.
Chocolate and Vanilla on the nose.
Chocolate on the taste initially, closely followed by vanilla. The chocolate in this is far more dark than I’ve had before, and you get a sense that the chocolate is of high quality, and high cocoa solids in percentage! there is also a lovely smokiness and bitterness about it. Would highly recommend it!

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Cask gravity at the Watford Beer Festival 2014. Poured black, with a rocky beige head. Aroma of chocolate syrup, sugar and some fruity notes. Moderately full mouth feel. Cocoa powder and dark malt flavours, very fake and quite dry. Finish was a horrible mix of cheap dark chocolate, super sweet, saccharine, synthetic nastiness. Not nice.
