UPDATED: MAR 16, 2016 Lovely chocolate aroma and taste with coffee tones. Good strength and despite sweetness surprising bite on palate. Can see why got gold in 2014.

Wow, such a bittersweet chocolate aroma, not overly sweet at all, the mild bitterness cut through it to make a very good beer.

Dobre i intensywnie pachnace piwo czekolada. Ciemne, geste i o ladnej brazowawej piance. W sam raz do puddingu lub innego czekoladowego deseru. Tresciwosc slodow czekoladowych oraz marris oter wspaniale wspolgraja i tworza jedna wielka czekoladowa calosc.

Bottled. 50cl sample. The aroma has strong milk chocolate, moccha, some vanilla, is creamy. Black coloured beer with a medium, lasting, tan head. The taste is light bitter, bit sweet, has milk chocolate, fudge, moccha. Clean finish. Initially quite some body for such a light beer, but becomes more light and dry in the finish. Easy drinking beer. Awesome.

Draught at Halifax beer fest 7/5/10. Very dark colour with beige head. Rich chocolate (surprise) and roasted malt aroma. Complex taste with chocolate, bitter malt and some vanilla. Bitter/sweet and balanced finish. Very smooth palate and very, very drinkable

Cask Handpump at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 07/08/2010 Big chocolate aroma. Creamy head. Black very smooth rich on the palate and fruity with a hint of dryness in a bitter chocolate finish.

Dark brown but basically black with no tint. I mean its black with a nice lacy brown creamy lasting head. Smells of heavy roasted malt, chocolate, and vanilla. Its like smelling a kitkat bar. Full thin body. Sweet taste of chocolate, roasted malt with a slight bitter additive finish. Excellent sweetness and roast making it a solid Stout but the finish is done badly. Slightly chemical or grassy. Unsure. Nonetheless, yummy.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger.Pours dark as Coke with a small head. Fantastic chocolate aroma, Willy Wonka woul be proud. Taste is also very filled with chocolate, not too sweet, more grainy, dry and full bodied with some nice hops at the finish. Almost unreal good beer, very good all over

cask at Harlequin, Sheffield brewed with chocolate, chocolate syrup and chocolate malt. Absolutely superb, smooth, roasty stout. almost black with slight ruby edge, pale long lasting head, massive chocolate aroma, leading to smooth dark chocolate taste while still retaining roasted barley flavour. aftertaste is pure chocolate
