cask at Harlequin, Sheffield brewed with chocolate, chocolate syrup and chocolate malt. Absolutely superb, smooth, roasty stout. almost black with slight ruby edge, pale long lasting head, massive chocolate aroma, leading to smooth dark chocolate taste while still retaining roasted barley flavour. aftertaste is pure chocolate

500ml bottle from BeerRitz. Almost black, reasonable head. Sweet chocolate aroma. Dark scocolate flavour. Chocolatey aftertaste. A bit too chocolatey for me.

Pours dark black with almost a fine tan head. Nose is intense cocoa, milk chocolate and chocolate syrup. Flavor is much the same, milk chocolate, chocolate syrup, a little caramel, a tiny bit of roast, and a slightly sweet, chocolately and roasty bitter finish. Nothing crazy, but definitely lots of chocolate.

A little disappointed. Tasted more coffee than chocolate. Small head when poured from a bottle.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell on 14th January 2015. Sepia-black with thinning off-white/tan foam. Rich and intense milk chocolate, roastiness and creaminess with a satisfying full-mouth chocolate finish. Plenty of body and engaging mouthfeel. Rated as a novelty ale.

Bottle from Stewart Wine Co. 050115. Drinking this beer is like sucking on a bar of bitter dark chocolate. Deep black colour with a power packed chocolate aroma. Bit thin in the mouth with a slightly salty finish.

500m bottle: BBE of Jul 15, poured at home in Dec 14. Deep black with a full but fairly then tanned head. Aroma is milk chocolate and vanilla, no hops in the nose, at least for me anyway. Fairly sweet taste, with chocolate being the overriding flavour, coffee notes in the mouth too. Smooth, creamy texture, slips down very nicely, ends with a mild bitterness, but this is all about chocolate really, as the labelling intimates.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Chocolate and Vanilla on the nose. Chocolate on the taste initially, closely followed by vanilla. The chocolate in this is far more dark than I’ve had before, and you get a sense that the chocolate is of high quality, and high cocoa solids in percentage! there is also a lovely smokiness and bitterness about it. Would highly recommend it!

Bottle from saucy pears, worcester. Black colour with tan head. Aroma has chocolate and fruit. Flavour has more chocolate, bitterness and as well as the roasted malt.
