Commercial Description:
Light copper in colour and hopped with East Kent Goldings, Salt Spring Pale Ale has a light, clean, and soft texture. A nutty-toffee maltiness with an elegant flowery aroma. This brew was awarded a silver medal at the 2004 Canadian Brewing Awards; it's a "session beer" (great for having many), like the Golden Ale, but more flavour. Goes well with pizza, curry, BBQ ribs.

Slightly orange-golden with a pretty bland grainy aroma. Thin lagery palate with low hop content, pretty disappointing really.

run of the mill pale. Muted aroma. Average malt and hops. Passable to drink, but doesn’t beg to be tried again.

went good with my bbq st. louis ribs. tingle of a hop profile and that’s it. nice caramel and nutty sweetness. pretty good malty backbone. good carbonation. sorry, i don’t SESSION beers anymore. nice dark amber color probably accentuates the tastes described above.

GCBF Sample. Good lacing. Moderate head. Malty aroma. Hoppier than expected. Light finish.

From 650 ml bottle into an imp pint glass. Poured a highly carbonated amber (large bubbles clinging to the glass) with a thinnish head. Some flowery aromas take hold with the distant scent of hops. It’s a very light aroma. Flavour is thin and sour. There’s something that causes my cheeks to pucker and I can’t push that away long enough to get a sense of what this ale CAN taste like. A poor representation, unfortunately.
